This brownie fruit pizza is everything: cream cheese frosting, colorful fruit, and a simple, fun dessert. It’s rich, looks great, and beats your typical fruit tart.

Recipe Notes & Tips
Here’s what you need to know before making this brownie dessert pizza:
- Boxed Mix is Best: I typically bake brownies from scratch for a fudge-like, dark chocolate version. They’re delicious but messy and fall apart easily. For this recipe, I use a boxed mix. It gives you that necessary cake-like texture to keep each slice intact. Plus, it’s a huge time-saver.
- Fruit Choices: Use any fruit combinations you like. Stick with one variety, or mix it up with berries, sliced kiwi, or whatever’s in season.
- Celebration Ready: This cake is perfect for birthdays—just add candles. It also makes a great red, white, and blue dessert for patriotic holidays.
- Pan Matters: A tart pan with a removable bottom guarantees your brownie pizza comes out perfectly. If you use another round or square baking pan, just make sure it’s well greased.
- Don’t Overbake: Pull the brownies from the oven when the center is set and the edges just start to pull away from the pan. Overbaking ruins the texture.
- Fruit & Shelf Life: The type of fruit on top will determine how long the cake lasts in the refrigerator.

Storage & Leftovers
Here’s how to store and enjoy your brownie dessert pizza:
- Keep it Chilled: Store any leftovers in the refrigerator. This keeps the frosting firm and maintains freshness.
- Cover it Well: Use plastic wrap or foil. Make sure it’s completely covered so it stays fresh and doesn’t pick up fridge odors.
- Serve Cold or Room Temp: It’s great served chilled, but letting it come to room temperature works too if you prefer.
- Enjoy Promptly: For the best taste and texture, eat the brownie pizza within 3–4 days.

FAQs About This Brownie Dessert Pizza
- Can I use homemade brownies instead of a mix?
You can, but for this specific fruit pizza recipe, I prefer a boxed mix. From-scratch brownies are usually fudgier and more delicate, which makes them harder to slice once the frosting and fruit go on top. A boxed mix gives you a cakier base that holds everything together. - What’s the best fruit to use for brownie pizza?
I usually stick with strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries, but anything soft and fresh works—sliced kiwi, banana, mango, even blackberries. Just avoid super juicy fruit like melon, which can make the frosting runny. - Can I make this as a square brownie fruit pizza instead of round?
Yes, you can use a square pan or even a sheet pan—just make sure to grease it well. You won’t get the same tart edge, but it still works and might be easier if you’re feeding a crowd. - How do I keep the fruit from making the frosting watery?
Make sure the fruit is fully dry before placing it on the frosting. I rinse and dry berries ahead of time so they’re ready to go once the brownie has cooled and been frosted. - Does this travel well for parties or potlucks?
It does, as long as it’s kept cool. Chill it fully before slicing, and keep it in a covered container for transport. You can even bring the fruit in a separate container and decorate it once you arrive. - Is this the same as a chocolate fruit pizza?
Pretty much—it just depends on what people call it. Some refer to this kind of dessert as chocolate brownie pizza or brownie dessert pizza. This version skips the sugar cookie crust and keeps the rich, chocolate base. If you’re looking for something a little lighter with a classic cookie crust, try my strawberry pizza—that one’s made with a sugar cookie base and has a completely different feel. - Is this a no-bake brownie fruit pizza?
No, the brownie base is baked. However, the assembly is very easy, making it feel almost as simple as a no-bake dessert.

More Chocolate and Fruit Combo Recipes to Make
A few more ways I like to pair fruit with chocolate:
- Chocolate Cherry Cupcakes – rich chocolate cake with cherry buttercream.
- Chocolate Blackberry Pavlovas – crisp chocolate meringue with blackberry compote.
- Fresh Cherry Coconut Chocolate Chip Ice Cream – creamy coconut base with cherries and chocolate.
- Mini Chocolate Ganache Tarts – just 5 ingredients and topped with fruit.
Brownie Fruit Pizza Is Always a Good Idea
This is one of those desserts that looks fun, tastes rich, and doesn’t take much effort. Once you’ve got the brownie base and cream cheese frosting down, the rest is all about the fruit.

Servings: 10 slices
Calories: 315kcal
Equipment
- measuring cups and spoons For accuracy.
- mixing bowls One for the brownie mix, one for the frosting
- 9" tart pan (23 cm) Removable bottom to lift brownies out easily.
- hand mixer Helps get the frosting smooth.
Ingredients
- 1 box brownie mix (my preferred brand) + ingredients for that mix (water, oil, egg etc.) (I use butter instead of oil.)
- 1 package (8 oz 226 g) cream cheese, softened
- ⅓ cup (40 g) confectioners' sugar
- 2 tbsps. (30 ml) heavy whipping cream
- ½ tsp (2.5 ml) vanilla extract
- 1½ cups (225 g) fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup (150 g) fresh blueberries
- 1 cup (125 g) fresh raspberries
Instructions
- Preheat the oven according to the brownie mix directions. (I prefer 325°F / 165°C for a more even bake.)
- In a medium bowl, combine the water, egg, and oil or softened butter—whatever your mix calls for. Mix until the egg is fully incorporated. (Tip: I like using softened butter instead of oil. It doesn’t fully blend at first, but once combined with the mix, it creates a fluffier, cakier texture.)1 box brownie mix (my preferred brand) + ingredients for that mix (water, oil, egg etc.)
- Add the wet mixture to the brownie mix in a large bowl. Stir with a wooden spoon until fully combined.
- Spread the batter evenly into a 9-inch (23 cm) tart pan with a removable bottom.
- Bake according to the package directions, usually about 39 to 43 minutes, until the center is set and the edges start to pull away from the pan.
- Remove from the oven and let the brownie cool completely before removing it from the pan.
- In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, confectioners’ sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract until smooth and fluffy. (Add an extra tablespoon [15 mL] of cream if you want a softer texture.)1 package (8 oz 226 g) cream cheese, softened, ⅓ cup (40 g) confectioners' sugar, 2 tbsps. (30 ml) heavy whipping cream, ½ tsp (2.5 ml) vanilla extract
- Transfer the cooled brownie base to a serving tray. Spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the top.
- Arrange the sliced strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries over the frosting.1½ cups (225 g) fresh strawberries, sliced, 1 cup (125 g) fresh raspberries, 1 cup (150 g) fresh blueberries
- Chill for at least 1 hour before slicing.
- Cut into wedges and serve. Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
Notes
- Using a boxed mix gives this brownie fruit pizza a sturdier, more sliceable base—perfect for topping with frosting and fruit.
- Most mixes call for oil, but I use softened butter instead. It doesn’t fully blend with the egg and water at first, but once you stir it into the mix, it works in just fine. I like the flavor better, and it gives the brownie a softer, cakier texture that holds up well with the toppings.
- Use any fruit you like: kiwi, banana (soak in lemon or pineapple juice), blackberries, or whatever’s in season.
- A tart pan with a removable bottom works best, but a well-greased square or round pan will also do.
- Chill the assembled dessert for at least an hour before slicing—it helps the frosting set and keeps the fruit in place.
