Air fryer maple glazed salmon is my weeknight fix when I want sticky, caramelized flavor without a mess. The maple-soy glaze pulls it all together every time.

Air Fryer Maple Glazed Salmon
Maple glazed salmon is a staple in my kitchen. The maple soy glaze caramelizes in the air fryer until it’s sticky and savory-sweet, wrapping the salmon in flavor that makes it hard to stop eating. It cooks quickly, it smells amazing, and it always feels like the right choice for dinner.
Why I Love This Recipe
- Quick enough for a weeknight but still packed with flavor.
- The maple soy glaze caramelizes in minutes.
- Clean-up is minimal, which means I actually make this often.

Ingredients
Five ingredients are all it takes for this maple glazed salmon:
- Maple syrup – pure maple only, the real stuff makes the glaze.
- Soy sauce – low sodium so it doesn’t overpower the sweetness.
- Garlic powder – simple but it works here.
- Black pepper – I like it coarsely ground for a little bite.
- Salmon fillets – fresh or thawed fillets work best.

How To Make Air Fryer Maple Glazed Salmon
Find the complete printable recipe with measurements in the recipe card at the BOTTOM OF THE POST.
- Step One (marinate the salmon)
Grab a zip-top bag and pour in the maple syrup, soy sauce, garlic powder, and pepper. Add the salmon fillets, seal it up, and swish it around until everything’s coated. I let mine sit in the fridge for about 30 minutes so the glaze gets a head start. - Step Two (start cooking)
Move the salmon into the air fryer basket and save that marinade for later. Set it to 375°F (190°C) and let the salmon go for 8 minutes. - Step Three (glaze while cooking)
About halfway through, open the basket and brush the salmon with some of the marinade. Close it back up and finish the cook. Any marinade that’s still left at the end can be tossed. - Step Four (serve)
As soon as it’s done, serve it up. The glaze will be sticky, savory-sweet, and just right.

Recipe Tips
Some quick pointers that make this maple soy salmon come out right every time:
- Cooking salmon in the air fryer doesn’t leave the kitchen smelling like fish.
- If you’re starting with frozen fillets, thaw them before marinating. For salmon that cooks straight from the freezer, my air fryer frozen salmon is the one to check out.
- Skin-on salmon is fine – just place it skin-side down in the basket.
- To check doneness, press lightly on the fillet with a fork. If it flakes along the white lines, it’s ready.
- For a no-glaze version, see my perfect air fryer salmon.

Everything we’ve tried from you instantly becomes part of our rotation – thanks! Can’t wait to try this one, as hubby doesn’t like any Asian flavors and that’s usually all you can find in salmon recipes. Can you always include the conversion for air-fried things to either a regular and/or convection oven for your recipes? Some of us are downsizing and while all houses will have an oven, we can’t have as many specialty devices as we’d like. Thanks!
Roschelle Laughhunn says
Exactly. I don’t own an air fryer and don’t have the space. How can this be done in an oven?
Cathy says
As a general rule, when converting an air fryer recipe to an oven cooked recipe, increase the temperature by 25 degrees and increase the cooking time by 20 percent. When it comes to salmon the thickest part of a piece of cooked salmon should have a minimum internal temperature of 145˚F—which will be a very firm, well-done piece of fish. A lot of people don’t like their salmon cooked that well done, so just keep an eye on it and have meat thermometer available.

Love doing salmon in my air fryer. I didn’t discard the excess marinade, though. I like something to drizzle over the salmon and accompanying rice, so I reduced it in a saucepan and used it as a glaze, which was nice, but increased the sweetness a bit too much. Next time, I’ll throttle back on the maple syrup and increase the soy sauce to compensate.

My 95-year-old husband is an avid fishermen all of his life, he caught a 20 pound salmon last week, I tried your recipe and it was delicious. My husband said it was one of the best tasting salmon he had ever had, and wants me to cook it that way again. Several church friends now want to try your recipe too. It’s so easy, fast, and tasty. I did use a bit of dark oyster sauce, in place of soy sauce, but I’ll use soy sauce in a few weeks. Thank you for sharing your interesting take on Air fryer Salmon. God bless you and your family. Anyone reading this long text, please try this one, you will be amazed at the taste profile and ease of this dish. I love you all in Christ. Hugs from northern California.

Tried this tonight and it cooked up great in the air fryer! I made one change to the maple syrup part. I used a Pecan Wood Smoked maple syrup. Seemed like a good idea to add the smoked flavor to salmon.
(Don’t know if it’s okay to drop the name of the syrup maker, but it’s Runamok.$$)
Thanks!
