Ingredients for Tortellini Pasta Salad
There’s a very good chance you have most of these ingredients in your kitchen already.
tortellini – feel free to use frozen or refrigerated tortellini, dry tortellini can also be used if that’s what you have on hand
bacon – use regular bacon, not a flavored variety such as maple or pepper bacon
cherry tomatoes – grape tomatoes also work well
peas – frozen peas work best and are preferred over canned
ranch dressing – you can make your own, but for a quick meal, use your favorite bottled version
cheddar cheese – feel free to use sharp, medium or regular cheddar
green onions

Recipe Tips
- Use classic-cut bacon as opposed to thick-cut bacon for the best texture.
- Frozen peas give the best texture, but canned can be used in a pinch. If you decide to use fresh peas, make sure to cook them first.
- Use the whole green onion/scallion, the white and green parts for the best flavor.
- I like to chill the salad for a bit before serving, but it’s not necessary. Chilling can cause the pasta to soak up a lot of the dressing so feel free to add more if necessary. This is especially true if you make it the day before serving.
Serving Ideas
This salad goes great with grilled meats like these juicy pork chops or flank steak. It’s the best side dish for a summer barbecue, but simple enough to make on a weeknight.
