This St. Germaine cocktail is the perfect summer spritzer for a balmy evening on the patio. It’s also elegant enough for a bridal shower or garden party soiree.

St. Germain Spritz
I love using St. Germain in a cocktail for its delicate notes of elderflower, pear, and honeysuckle. The florals and fragrance really come to life, enhanced by the bubbly Prosecco and club soda.
This spritz cocktail is one of my favorite drinks to serve on a weeknight because it’s effortless to put together, yet sophisticated enough for a more formal gathering. Its refreshing taste makes it a hit with guests, no matter the occasion.
If you’re hosting an engagement party or any celebration this summer, this is your sign to make these simple cocktails!

Ingredients
- St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur: St. Germain is a French liqueur made with 1000 delicate fresh elderflowers per bottle (this is why it’s so special). The flowers are harvested just once per year late in the spring when they are at their absolute best making a finely crafted, perfectly balanced liqueur. The elderflowers have a very distinctive flavor with notes of pear and honeysuckle. The liqueur works well in many cocktails and comes to life when mixed with something bubbly like this spritz cocktail. I also use it in my elderflower honey gin smash cocktail and love the nuances.
- Prosecco: I love use prosecco in a cocktail for its subtle sweetness, but any sparkling white wine, such as Cava can also be used.
- Club Soda: You can easily sub out club soda with any unflavored sparkling mineral water or seltzer water. Pellegrino would be my second choice for this spritz.
- Lemon Wheel: In my opinion, this is the perfect garnish for this cocktail, signaling that the overall flavor profile will be refreshing. A lime wheel would also work well.
- Fresh Elderflowers (optional): Using fresh elderflowers are completely optional and really only available in the springtime. I foraged mine to use as an extra special garnish in this cocktail. Keep in mind that elderflower should only be picked if it is away from the roadside, otherwise the flowers can be contaminated with care fumes. Mint as a garnish or other edible flowers would also work.

How to Make a St. Germain Spritz
Find the complete printable recipe with measurements in the recipe card at the BOTTOM OF THE POST.
- Step One: I fill a cocktail glass (I like using a stemless wine glass for this cocktail) with ice and pour in the St. Germain, prosecco and club soda.
- Step Two: I use a long-handed cocktail spoon (I have one linked in the recipe card) to vigorously stir the cocktail.
- Step Three: I garnish each glass with a lemon wheel and serve it immediately.

Why I Love This Recipe
- I prefer a St. Germain spritz over an Aperol spritz because St. Germain is not bitter. Even though I lack the ability to taste bitterness (odd, isn’t it?), I can still detect the remnants of bitter Aperol.
- This is a great cocktail to make and serve at a picnic or outdoor concert because the ingredients are easily transportable in an ice chest.
- The uniqueness of St. Germain is unmatched and I love exposing people to it any chance I get.
- Bartending skills are not required for this simple cocktail. Anyone can help you make and serve these when you’re entertaining.

When To Serve
- You’ll want to serve this cocktail immediately before the ice has melted and while it’s still bubbly.
- Stick with making this spritz individually for the absolute best flavor.
