My love for this chicken salad with grapes has always been strong. It’s a flavor combination I never get tired of and make over and over again. The list of ingredients is highly customizable, making it perfect for lunch or a light dinner.

Chicken Salad with Grapes
This chicken salad with grapes and walnuts is my favorite way to make chicken salad during the summer season. Whether I’m feeding a small group or keeping it all to myself for a few meals, there’s enough to go around.
As I mentioned, the ingredients can easily be changed or adjusted to accommodate any preferences or availability.
Why I Love This Recipe
- I love making this chicken salad in the summertime because it doesn’t require heating up the stove.
- Using store-bought rotisserie chicken makes this simple to put together.
- This is a great recipe to make the day before serving. The flavor gets better every day!

This chicken salad couldn’t be easier to put together.
- Step One: Add all the ingredients to a large bowl and mix it all together.
- Step Two: Cover the chicken salad tightly and place it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to chill.

Recipe Notes and Tips
- If want or need to leave out the nuts, but still want crunch, use roasted and salted sunflower seeds.
- I’ve used sweetened, dried cranberries in place of grapes during times of the year when grapes are not at their best. It’s a great substitution.
- This is a great recipe to double or triple and serve at a bridal or baby shower.
- Slivered almonds can also be substituted for the walnuts.
- Serve this chicken salad on a bed of leafy lettuce, on a croissant (my favorite) or with crackers.
- You can use green grapes, but I love the way the red pops in salad.

Leftovers and Storage
- I’ve kept the leftovers tightly covered in the refrigerator for up to three days.
- Before serving, I give the chicken salad mixture a stir to combine all the flavors and ingredients.
- You should not freeze any leftovers because they will not thaw well.

The combination of Greek yogurt and mayo made it creamy and light. The crunch from the walnuts and fresh veggies was perfect. So happy it turned out perfectly. Brought it to a picnic.
