Chocolate Chip Cookie Cups with Nutella Ganache Recipe
Individual chocolate chip cookie cups are pretty hard to mess up. At it’s most basic, it’s just cookie dough pressed into a mini muffin tin and a simply made ganache swirled in and topped with whipped cream.
This would be a winner of an afternoon project with the kids, and in it’s own way it’s the perfect pre-portion cookie for yourself – if you can stop at one.
If you enjoy warm spices in your chocolate chip cookies, feel free to add a smidge of cinnamon. And if you prefer a bit more crunch, chopped walnuts or pecans are a welcome addition to the cookie dough batter.
These are perfect for a handheld dessert party!

How To Make Cookie Cups
Step one: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare a nonstick mini muffin tin by coating with cooking spray.
Step two: In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, beat butter and sugars together until creamy. Add egg yolks and vanilla and continue beating until well mixed.
Step three: Combine flour, baking soda and salt in another bowl. Add flour mixture and chocolate chips to butter mixture. Mix in until combined.
Step four: Using a spoon, scoop about 1 tablespoon of the dough into each cup. Using your thumb or a spoon, create a little dip in the top of the balls, pushing the dough up the sides of the muffin tin. Bake for 10 minutes.
Step five: Remove the muffin tin from the oven and with your spoon, push the middle of the cups back down, creating a space for the ganache. Place the cookie cups back into the oven for 3 more minutes.
Step six: Remove from the oven and push down any parts of the middle that may have risen again. Let cool in the pan.
How To Make Nutella Ganache
Step one: Add dark chocolate chips and Nutella to a small bowl. Set aside.
Step two: In a small saucepan, heat cream to just about boiling. (The cream is ready when you see little bubbles start to form around the edges of the pan.)
Step three: Remove pan from heat and pour immediately over the chocolate. Let sit, undisturbed, for 10 minutes.
Step four: Whisk the cream and the chocolate together. (Do not worry if it looks chunky, it will become smooth as the chocolate melts and incorporates with the cream.)
Step five: Once ganache is smooth and starts to thicken, use a spoon to fill the cookie cups.
Step six: Top with whipped cream if you choose and extra chocolate chips and toasted hazelnuts.

Can I Use a Premade Mix for the Cookie Cups?
You can!
If you are not interested in making cookie dough from scratch, you can easily use the dough from a pre-packaged mix (make dough according to package instructions) or you can press in packaged refrigerated dough into the muffin as well.
If you decide to make this semi-homemade then all you need to worry about preparing is the Nutella ganache.
