Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a standard loaf pan with parchment paper. Using a hand or stand mixer, beat the butter and sugar until creamy.
1/3 cup butter, softened, 1/2 cup granulated sugar
Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla, mixing until fully incorporated.
2 large eggs, 1 tsp vanilla extract
Add the flour, baking powder, and baking soda, mixing on low speed until fully incorporated. Mix in the mashed bananas, then gently stir in the chocolate chips.
1-3/4 cup all-purpose flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1-3/4 mashed ripe banana (about 2 very large or 4 small bananas or 2 medium and 3 small), 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Pour the batter into the pan, then sprinkle extra chocolate chips and raw sugar on top.
Optional: extra chocolate chips to place on top and raw sugar to sprinkle on top
Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let it cool, remove from the pan, slice, and enjoy.
