Hotels- Omni Parker Hotel- so much history with JFK, Ho Chi Minh, Parker house rolls, Boston cream pies- all from this beautiful old hotel!
Food- my fave casual place for lobster rolls (both cold and hot) and lobster bisque is Barking Crab at the Seaport.
And I can’t believe no one has mentioned Regina’s pizza! The original in North End. The best brick oven pizza. With the original brick oven from the 1920s. The other locations of Regina’s are not the same- go to the original on Thacher street!
And my favorite way to take a first timer around the city is to grab one of the trolley’s around. It is hop on/hop off and gives you a good once around the city to see the highlights. I always suggest to take one loop without getting off and then use the trolley like a taxi around the city if you don’t want to walk any more. But Boston is most definitely the most walkable city ever

I second the Parker House. We’ve stayed before and are staying again in March. The longest continuously operated hotel in the US, it’s steeped in history and has beautiful (if small for most Americans) rooms and a great lobby.

Don’t forget the Bell in Hand Tavern for a great lobster roll! Boston is our favorite city by far.
