Hi—great question. You don’t need to fully double the liquid smoke. It’s pretty concentrated, and using too much can overwhelm the flavor. For a larger pork butt, I usually scale the salt up a bit more generously, but only increase the liquid smoke by about half—just enough to carry that smoky flavor through without overdoing it.
