Ginger paste is available in about every grocery across the U.S. as well as fresh bean sprouts. Both are found in the refrigerated produce section. Ask your grocer to point them out as sometimes they are in an odd location. You could peel fresh ginger and mash is down with the side of knife or the back of the spoon. You could add broccoli too.

Good morning! I would love to try this, but I have never encountered ginger paste. How would I substitute fresh ginger? Fresh bean sprouts are not available in my area (San Antonio). Could I substitute fresh broccoli, or broccoli rabe? Thanks
