I like making bar cookies, and try to put several varieties on the Christmas morning brunch table. I may create such a table for Thanksgiving this year, too, although my dearly beloved is always yelling at me for trying to do too much on Thanksgiving. These look great, and will surely join my repertoire! Thanks.

as mine bake, they are much bigger in height than the pictures appear. Also, the toffee she used appears to be chocolate covered – will try that next time. I just used toffee bits. Let you know how they turn out-

Those bars look more moist and chewy than crunchy, but I like it better that way. It reminds me of a fudgy brownie!

ha–that’s not the most subtle of hints from your hubby, but i’m sure these appeased him. coffee does very nice things for chocolate, and toffee is always a welcome addition! i like the thinness of these beauts!
