And Wedge Salads were an absolute staple in every restaurant, steakhouse, and home. It was pretty much your patriotic duty to eat iceburg lettuce.

There is a very small area of NY and southern CT that refers to a sub/hoagie as a “wedge”. It’s funny because I grew up always calling it a wedge and I never understood why people looked at me funny when I traveled outside the area.
