Not everything happens in the kitchen! A little recap of what’s going on in my life beyond all the food.

It has been awhile since I’ve done a Bites of Life post! I get lots of messages “to bring them back”, so here it goes. Let’s hope I can keep them up.
Highlights this past week includes a twins baby shower at my home. Since the genders are going to be a surprise, we stuck with a “Two Peas in a Pod” theme; lots of green, yellow and white decor. This “Oh Babies” balloon garland was the perfect focal point in the room.
Luckily, it was freezing outside and we could have the fireplace going, which added to the ambiance.
I ordered tons of these hanging paper fans (they have them in lots of colors) and hung them everywhere. They are super festive for any type of celebration.
How cute are these Two Peas in a Pod shower invitations?
We set up the mama-to-be in this fur-covered chair to open her gifts. And yes, she needed the perfect sash to complete her outfit.
We played these games and filled out this sweet sheet for the babies.
Lots of wine was served!
We went heavy on the charcuterie, which is perfect for a ladies shower. You can get the little green banner hanging in the window here.
How adorable are these Two Peas in a Pod cookies? Anna makes the best special occasion cookies that are not only beautiful, but taste amazing. I order them for every occasion I can.
The dessert table was filled with goodies.
- Homemade funfetti cake with “Welcome Babies” message
- Two Peas in a Pod cookies
- DoubleMint Gum (obviously for a twins shower)
- Lemoncello Chocolate Almonds (currently at Costco)
- Homemade Whipped Peanut Butter treats
- other yellow and green candy
- white roses, white hydrangeas, yellow and white spider mums, all from Costco
- get the cute tassel garland here
It was so fun hosting this shower! Can’t wait to meet the babies.
We’ve had lots of snow this week, but have been keeping warm with these! They have been the best investment this winter.
Fresh Dungeness crab had me adapt this recipe into a crab bisque. It was so amazing on a snowy day.
Ladies…if you have a Louis Vuitton purse and need an insert to keep things organized, I just received mine and I love it. It’s well made, inexpensive and the lady who makes them has a variety of colors and styles for many different LV bags.
Even though it’s winter, you can still get great tomatoes, which I happily used in my One-Ingredient Salad Dressing Salad. It was so good!
This hair dryer has changed my life. I didn’t even think that was possible with thin hair.
This creamy chicken dish is on my menu this week.
My ultimate breakfast sandwich.
This will change your dry winter lips forever.
Stop spending all your money at Starbucks and make this at home.
I want to make this Instant Pot soup.
The Best Cold Weather Chowders, Soups and Stews!
I want this just for the crispy wontons. Is that bad?
A St. Patrick’s Day must. And don’t forget dessert.

Until next time….
