Bites of life are a series of posts about what’s happening in daily life.
Oh man, if there is one thing about vacation, re-entry is hard!
If you have been following on Instagram, you’ll know I just spent a glorious Spring Break week in Hawaii (I don’t feel guilty saying that, sorry.).
We had absolutely perfect weather and the 76-83 degree temperatures were divine.
Living in Oregon it’s really nice to get away from the rain and the cold during this time of year. We really look forward to it and Hawaii is definitely our place to indulge.
The kids love it, I love it….it has always been perfection for our family.
We love staying on the island of Oahu in Waikiki. There is so much to do there.
Waikiki has turned into a shopping mecca over the years. We love the nightlife it provides but enjoy spending our days on beaches all over the island.
Having a rental car in Hawaii is a must for us!!
We visited some amazing beaches during this trip.
And lots of tropical umbrella drinks were had!
My boys love the water and much to my chagrin are always looking for the biggest waves.
It scares the heck out of me. I am always on high alert when they are in the ocean.
We had some amazing food on this trip too. More on that later.
In the coming weeks I am going to write more specifically about some of the things we did in Hawaii.
So many people always ask me where to go or where to eat. I do have some suggestions.
While it’s good to get away and hard to come home, it is good to be back.
The dog will not leave my side and nothing made me smile bigger than my boys saying how much they loved being back at home (even though they didn’t want to leave Hawaii). Go figure.

Sounds like it was a great vacation. I have never been to Hawaii but hope that I will be able to go someday soon before I am no longer able to travel. The weather looks perfect and beats the snow we’ve had and likely will be having again tomorrow. Can’t wait to hear more about your trip.
