It’s hard to believe it’s March already. Twenty-one days and counting until I am back sitting on some of my favorite beaches in the world. I can’t wait to feel eighty degree temps and cool ocean breezes. I look forward to it every year!
What are you doing for Spring break?
This week started out with more partying…more eating. I made some epic queso dip with all the usual suspects; cheese, refried beans, jalapenos, Ro-tel, green chiles…it’s always so addicting.
And since we are always on an eating frenzy over here, I finally had to get a treadmill. I do run outdoors daily, but sometimes I want to vary my workout and this seemed like the best way to do it.
We literally spent a year comparing all treadmills and all that they offer. There are so many options to consider and we ended up with a very highly rated model for a good price. It does take a semi to deliver this giant piece of equipment.
Middle school basketball came to an end this week. I’m going to miss watching the kids play, they really enjoyed it.
Have I told you all about the band of wild turkeys we have in our neighborhood? They are kind of cool to watch and not afraid of the dogs or humans. In fact they are pretty friendly.
We finally ate at Barrel 47, the new restaurant right across from our winery tasting room. I’m not sure if you can tell from the picture but their Barrel Burger is about as big as your head! We hope you come out and give them a try soon.
Mardi Gras is in full swing as we approach Fat Tuesday. I have a Pinterest board dedicated to Mardi Gras recipes. Make sure to follow along if you don’t already. Many also refer to Fat Tuesday as Shrove Tuesday where pancakes and related fried breads or pastries made with sugar, fat and eggs are also traditionally consumed. Check out my Pancake Pinterest board if you are looking to make something in that category.
