If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen I was playing with sprinkles yesterday. I can’t help myself when holiday sprinkles are in the stores…I hoard them, it’s kind of ridiculous already. You should see the sprinkle area in my house. Yes, it’s an area. I need help.
So anyway, my plan was to dip some some pretzels in chocolate for the Super Bowl eating extravaganza. However, out of the corner of my eye I could see a bag of pita chips in the pantry, the big thick ones with all the uneven shapes and I thought, why not dip pitas? They are the perfect crunch.
What I liked best is how disfigured each pita chip is, making each piece more interesting. It’s rustic and cool. And it’s good. What an awesome flavor this is! And it’s so simple.
How cute would a little box of these be? I’m thinking they would look best in the little Chinese take out food containers, wrapped with a bow. If you do this, please post it on my Facebook page, I want to see it!!
I started looking around the internet to see if other folks had made these with different flavors. It looks like Pioneer Woman did a Pita Chip Candy Crunch version for Frito Lay with peanut butter and chocolate a while back. But I couldn’t really find anything else.
And of course I still did pretzels…one kid insisted. But I am hooked on these pita chips.
I did make these using my beloved Candiquik. I know I’ve spoken here before about how easy it is to use. My Candiquik area is next to my sprinkle area…I buy a lot of it at a time.
Anyway…these will keep perfectly until game day, as long as someone hides them from me.
