Pack Meeting of the year.
Don’t they look official?
My youngest hooligan was very excited. This is his first year in Cub Scout’s.
Before we left he said, “Mom am I dreaming or is this really my first Pack Meeting?” He was bouncing off the walls excited. It was so cute.
Now let all the craziness begin…
Harmony says
Oh…WOW! That is all sorts of adorable…how freaking cute. I love that “pinch me I am dreaming” feeling your son had about the pack meeting…how sweet!
KathyB. says
Your sons are so cute, and this time in life for your and your husband are the BEST times…I had so much fun with my 2 sons, and daughter too, and your sons are the age when so much seems possible. (oh, and girls don’t enter into the picture much yet )Happy scouting. KathyB.

OH my gosh they are so cute!
Darling Daughter was a girl scout for seven years; I was troop leader for 3. I think scouting is a great experience for kids. Plus they get to wear cool uniforms!!
Lori says
awwwww. your post was the first one up in my google reader, and those beautiful faces made me smile and feel all melty. i miss my kids being that age. and the wonder they can express sometimes, like the youngest one, wondering if he’s dreaming. thank you for posting that, it got my day off to a great start.

They look so grown up. I have one more year before my oldest can be in the Cub Scouts, so your picture shows me what I’ll see in 4 years when my baby boy can be a Cub Scout.
melissa says
Aren’t they handsome!
Howdy says
What fine young men they will grow up to be… gotta love a guy in uniform right? Mine spent years and years in Scouts – especially enjoyed all the camping, etc. A nephew just made his Eagle this past spring… all very exciting stuff.
gorillabuns says
They do look so eager and excited.
barbie with a T says
Adorable. I love to see a man in uniform. Our grandson is in his first year at Texas A&M and he is a member of the Corps. Just the uniform alone has transformed him into a man.
Jenni in KS says
Aw, I miss those days! We were very involved in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts and I loved it. What handsome young men you have there. I hope you all enjoy it as much as we did.
Mental P Mama says
Too. Cute. For. Words.

My sister just started a Brownie troop with my niece. I expect to get some calls for the arts & crafts…
Leah Q says
they look darling, love how the younger one is protecting the refrigerator with hid hand – or how it seems as if…
looks like you got a big year ahead of you!
annie d says
My son went through scouting and achieved the
Eagle scout award. On his first job after graduating college, the gentleman interviewing him touched on that and the skills he learned through scouting.
Fun House Jennifer says
They are so cute!! This is the first year in a long time I don’t have someone in Cub Scouts (part of me is relieved–it’s so hard to keep track of those uniforms!!).
Suzette says
Too, too cute! And I love the comment from your little one. Reminds me of when my stepson started first grade. He popped himself up on the kitchen counter and just started babbling about all the things first graders get to do. Then he paused and took a deep breath and said, “I feel just LIKE a man!” I nearly lost it but somehow managed to retain my cool long enough to hug him and tell him how I had noticed he was indeed growing up. Such a cute age!
Cheryl says
Oh they look so handsome and responsible! Simply precious. π
Know the program will live up to all expectations.
(Are there any junior vintners badges? π )
Teri says
Awwwww, so so cute! Wish we could have had a picture of your face too, beaming with pride! Such a proud parent moment! Emily (my little smarty pants) was a Girl Scout! Enjoy every moment! Wait till the Soap Box Derbys…. How fun!

I just sent my scout off to college, and it’s fun to see the scouting tradition carried on. His scouting experience paid off with world travel, Eagle Scout, and an Eagle Scout college scholarship through our council! Good luck to your little guys. It’s a lot of work, but so much fun! It’s only an hour a week (wink-wink)
Liz C. says
Man Oh Man! I do miss those days of cub scouts and girl scouts.

I see you went with the vest. I’ve tried to convince Jungle Boy to do this, but we settled for a sweatshirt instead. I still haven’t put the patches on it.
Such a great program.

Yes, they look very official.
I tried to get Boo into Scouts. We have very poorly organized groups here. Makes me sick. We just gave up. He’s now into karate, and loves it!

Coffee Bean says

I have pictures on the wall of my kids in Cub Scout uniforms. My youngest is working his Eagle Project right now. I’ve been a Scout leader for 15 years – it hardly seems possible by youngest son ages out in December.

All of my boys have loved Cub Scouts, although I must confess that I got tired of “helping” with Pinewood Derby cars! (And everyone else got tired of at least one of my boys’ cars each year taking home first place!)

God, I just had a flashback about my youngest son’s excitement at his first pack meeting! Oh, so long ago . . .
I wish he would get unstuck from his trials and tribulations and get on with his life. He is such a wonderful person. I think I’ll go cry now.

Oooh, they DO look so official! Isn’t it fun trying to figure out where to place all of the badges?!! My son enjoyed scouts when he was younger. Shall we start to refer to you as a Den Mother? π
