Are You Being Watched…..By Your Neighbors?

Are Your Neighbors Always Outside Watching You?

They know when you leave your house.  They know when you return.

They know when you have company.  They know when your company left.

They know if the brown truck delivered today or yesterday and how many packages were left on your doorstep.

Yes, your buttinsky neighbors, you know the ones; THEY KNOW EVERYTHING…about you.

Ever have the feeling that the minute you set foot outside, someone is peering at you from their blinds across the street or watching your every move from the shadows of a doorway?

It’s horrible isn’t it?  That feeling of reconnaissance surveillance in your own yard.  What’s wrong with these people?  They need to get a life.

I’ve taken the liberty of categorizing some of them that I’ve come to know over the years.  I’m not sure which one is worse but I’ve been violated by them all.

What’s ironic about it, is sometimes the nosy neighbor actually serves a purpose when there is something you are trying to find out.  But mostly they just annoying and are usually there to cause some type of conflict.

So let’s give these jerks the names they deserve.

Signs Your Neighbor Is Watching You

The Looky-Lou Loser:  Has no problem going to every open house on the block.  Say’s they are mostly interested in trying to gain design knowledge or how to rearrange their furniture.

These type of snoops are my most unfavorite of all.  Please explain to me why it is okay for someone you know to come check out your bedroom when you’re gone?  I actually had a neighbor come to my open house because her children wanted to play in my kids rooms.  What!!

The Deliberate Boob:  Asks totally inappropriate questions or makes uncalled for comments such as, “Is your husband the father of all your children?” or things like, “Have you gained weight.”  Or lovely comments like,  “I would never cut my hair like that”.

The Undercover Mole:  Has done background checks on you and counts the amount of wine bottles in your recycling bin every week.

If you don’t think this is happening, you are naive.

Inspector Gadget:  Has a telescope in the window, wears army fatigues for no apparent reason, binoculars are often around their neck.

This person has surveillance cameras on the whole street.  They are paranoid and think someone is out to get them.

Through the Fence Voyeur:  You know there is someone watching you in your backyard.  You can feel their presence but when you turn around their spying eyes are gone.  Freaky huh?

Have you noticed lately that all the little knots in the slats of your fence have been poked out and there are little holes everywhere up and down the wood?  Yeah, beware or be very aware.

The Party Pooper:  Calls the cops for every noise that’s ever made.  Every party is shut down before it really gets started.  Cars are towed away because they have been parked for 48 hours.  Calls the fire department proclaiming your backyard is a fire hazard because of the weeds.

You know who it is, however they think they are anonymous.

The Snooty Snot:  Barrels down the street in her new Mercedes SUV.  Her kids wear only Ralph Lauren while yours are in early Target hand-me-downs.  She watches you only to make herself feel better about who she is.

You don’t need her.

The Meddlesome Battleaxe:  A consistent and predictable nosy-nelly.  Can tell you what time the street-sweeper arrived and departed.  Copies down everyones license plate numbers on the block and demands to know whose car that is if it’s not immediately recognized.  Reports you to the homeowners association if your trash cans aren’t pulled in within five minutes of the trash truck arriving.

Just an all around annoying meathead.  Often wears slippers all day.  Maybe even a housecoat.  Gasp!

So which one of these nerds live on your street?  Or better yet, are you one of these people?

I need to go close my shades.  You should too.

  1. Part of being a good neighbour is looking out for one another. I am nosey and proud of it! I like to know who’s going round and mooching about in neighbours gardens! Most burglaries are opportunist ones – when people leave windows open and when neighbours aren’t nosey enough. I have gone out and asked people what they’re doing on the street. This helps keep my neighbourhood safer! I’m a member of my local neighbourhood watch too! We’re encouraged to look out for our neighbours! And if a nosey neighbour prevents my house getting robbed then I’d be pleased!

    • I realize your comment was posted a while back but since I have a very nosy neighbour, I googled it to know my options. You may think you are helping your neighbours by peeking in the window and stopping people on the street but in reality your neighbours do not appreciate this. It totally invades their privacy and they are just too polite to tell you. Please open your eyes and look in your own mirror. They invented fences for a reason!!!

      • Glad to read your recent post. I have found a few things that actually work. One is to act crazier and nosier than the neighbor! I am a senior lady on my own and just bought a lawn tractor. NOW I wear really good noise reduction ear muffs and only one foolish busy body stood behind the tractor until I turned it, didn’t stop and told her to get out of the way. I know she watches from a distance, but she doesn’t even come close even when I’m out in the yard. The rest of the time I wear ear plugs and pretend I don’t hear them. Another thing is that most of these morons DO kind of admire you in a sick way. I don’t understand this idea that they have nothing better to do, since I can always find things to do. Most of them are p-oed too that I don’t need them in my life and I won’t indulge them. I played the games when I was working, fetched, cleaned, cooked, did the couples thing, tolerated foolishness and so on. So now that I’ve been retired I open my eyes in the morning when I want to and close them at night when I want to. I do about 99% of what I darn well please to and I think somewhere deep down, these morons know that they don’t have thought of their own. As for complaining about weeds in my yard the bylaw took 22 years to act on one house, so by that time I probably will be out to pasture and not really give a you know what!

          • I have a neighbor who banged on my door early in the morning and says my keys are on their balcony and he claims his wife threw them but always smiling at me.

          • ME TOO! I just got divorced from a grouchy hateful person and moved into this rental trailer home. I tried to decorate around the trailer when someone allowed thier dog to crap all over our area. I realize now it was the old old lady across the street who had her trailer decorated. She has come out and tried bossing us around. After I first moved here she came out and asked “home for the day?” I said yes and she said Oh lucky us sarcastically. She figured out when I go to work so she stands outside or walks her dog then. Everytime I come home she rushes outside for no reason. Im so sick of that old bat I just want left alone. I feel like filing harassment charges on her. She watches everything we do here

          • Oh my gosh! I thought I was the only one. I have a neighbor that I feel has been watching and tracking our schedules. I have my friends over ever Monday night at 7pm. The woman rushes outside at 7 every Monday and does something in her yard. It’s so weird cuz she isn’t outside any other time. When I mow, she gets the mail. When I open my blinds, she puts on some sort of show in the driveway. I don’t know how to explain what I mean, but you can tell she is outside for absolutely no reason. Like she’ll pull the car out of the garage, open all the car doors, then go inside. Then she’ll come back and close them then move the car 10 feet. Just weird stuff and it goes on all day. It’s like she wants us to see her or pay attention to her. I don’t understand it. I was even at the grocery store one evening in the parking lot finishing up a phone call before I went inside. She came out of the store and obviously saw me so she turned on every dome light in her car and drove back and forth in front of me. So weird. I feel like I am being stalked, but it’s like she is watching and waiting for me to open a blind so she can run out and show herself to me. Every time I go outside or pass by a window, I feel the eyes on me. On top of it, she copies everything I do. She will wear the same colors I have on, make the same hairdo. She even bought the same car I had. It is so much like that movie Single White Female. I don’t know how to stop it because we don’t talk and I don’t want to be mean. The husband does all of these things as well. Sometimes I feel sorry for them because they don’t seem to have any friends, but mostly I just want to move and get away from them cuz I feel stalked and I don’t feel free in my own home.

            • Well, you are exactly in the same situation just like me! My neighbors are doing exact the same things: watching my schedule, showing up outside when I go to work, showing up when I come home, making runway-shows wearing weirdest outfits in front of my windows, or wearing outfit similar to mine or copying my colors, pulling car from the garage when I park on my driveway, walking their dog only around the house in front of my windows (it’s townhouse complex). They will take their dog for longer walk only when I walk my dog in our neighborhood, but I stopped walking here and drive with my dog to the nearest park area.
              Recently, because I asked them kindly to stop making a catwalk from my yard and stop walking their dog right under my door and windows,
              these sick people started spraying nasty skunk-like odor from their windows (behind their curtains) towards my house. It’s being like that whole summer long, since June of this year. I cannot step outside because they start spraying, and it stinks really bad. I called the Village, I called Association, but because I cannot document it (they are doing it invisibly) I cannot do anything about it.
              So I believe, my situation is worse than anybody else.
              Nobody can help. I am considering to move out.

              • Oh wow, I so get it. I too cannot prove the insane thing my sociopathic or anti social neighbor allows someone ( a Sude wearing a baseball cap)sit at his dining room table staring at my house every night. He stares right into my room. If I move in my backyard to where he can’t see me he gets up and moves too. He points lights and shadows into my bedroom. He has sone sort of a high frequency noise that sounds like it’s coming from my attic I have called police. They think I’m crazy and almost 5150 me. Ugh. I cannot move. I need to file fares same time o. These people and get them out.

              • Crazy… got a family next door! Never seen anything like this. So they have 8 (Eight) cameras that I can count round their in every direction that can ever be imagined. We moved in 2 months after they did and this crazy neighbor tried to tell us that we needed to change our locks, and wait to hear this: they have locks that they would like to sell us! Like I felt insulted. Now every time we are outside, they are outside. We bought vases, they bought exactly the same, got exactly the same plants! So here’s what I did: they were trying to sell me on planting grass so that our houses looked the same. I said no. I wanted gravel landscaping. I build my landscape myself and guess what? They came and asked me how I was building all of the stuff. Got a few of my ideas, you guessed it. They built a small strip with landscaping rocks. This list just goes on and on. I sense a TOTAL lack of self awareness on their part and I am just beginning to stand my ground on my property, being a new neighbor

                • Stop telling your neighbors anything. Just say I don’t know everytime they ask you something and be really vague. They’re looking to one-up you and copy you. And next time tell them straight up that no, you don’t want anything they’re selling. Before they even speak- cut them off and say that everytime they open their mouths and move along with what you’re doing. And keep it moving – hopefully things will be fine.

            • They’re gangstalking you in a strange way. This stuff had been happening a lot recently – victims call themselves TIs or targeted individuals ( i.e TI scalar weapons- kind of a frequency that attaches to you and causes this behavior if one or more parties are doing this to you.). If you don’t have any problems with them and barely know them, then half the time these people are insufferable toxic karens who have mediocre lives and want to compare themselves with you and keep up with the Jones’ or entertain themselves with gossip about those closest to them or…its some kind of spiritual warfare. (Stay prayed up, if y’all can). And when you say anything they hold a grudge and start throwing a tantrum and sabotaging you. Stay clear of them, and if I were you guys, put up hidden cameras on your property that records 24/7 at a time and you can watch through your phone when they’re asleep or gone and you’re sure they won’t see you- idk what would happen if they saw you putting them up – they may get more erratic if you do…. And I think they have professional bug sweepers that you can contact for help Tammy – police won’t help you since they want tech like that kept hush-hush.

        • My neighbors break in my apt every day when i leave, the deadbolt has been pried so many times it doesn’t work, they are going to pay really soon, i can’t stand to even look at them knowing they have took off me over and over not to mention my privacy and feeling violated every day i leave my house

            It’s upsetting, especially when for me, the only reas on I would be invited some where was to be robbed….
            Like wow ….I hate how everyone I know is a underground God almost because they grew up not having things and that would upset me and draw me to them to help sometimes and I more than not like to plan and be helpful and share but they have a chip on their shoulders most the time.
            That would be so cool to catch them in a trap door or locks that won’t open doors again. HAhahah. They would almost kill their self trying to get out. Now they know how I feel keeping myself to escape” the game” to them, play me (the trick is on them that shit your trash they think they got attraction pull you do that’s why you’re having stuff and they taketake they make a Einstein e=mc2 movement their is a reaction they will have something taken on purpose fake 430945984 then you being nice you get robbed someone will be nice to u now it will equal out and not evil doings by you), fake friendships. Please nobody reading this kill your self this is great take it as a funny challenge. Sorry if offensive. Nobody likes me I been told when I catch them stealing.more victims they become to themselves.

            • Yep..I know the type, in this case in an apartment building. At first, I thought they (two in the same unit) were just friendly or chatty, but over time, saw they were wanting to share information about neighbors, realizing that they would obviously share with others about ME too.

              They always watch out their window toward the parking lot, always knowing what is going on, can tell you WHAT is unloaded from a shopping trip or want to find out details if they didn’t see your car parked as usual, running around stirring up the idea around “What may have happened?” Unreal.

              What I’d like to know is, what causes one to be overly involved in watching, wondering and judging what others are doing? It’s a particular personality and most don’t act like this, doing their own thing, living their lives.

          • Wait – I’m confused. You are aware of neighbors breaking into your home and you’ve not taken any action. What is wrong with you. You should have put up indoor cameras to tape the break-in. And provide such footage to the authorities. You need to step up and stop the intrusions.

        • I understand of some of these, but what if you live in a apartment complex with drug dealers, and car breakins, and mostly ghetto people? When I first moved in one guy OD on drugs, then the swat team was going through someone’s apartment. How can you not sit out and watch your neighbors??

        • Finally I found this site. My late husband I retired at early young age and move to Panhandle Florida 2018. We are originally from California and move to Illinois during the 90’s. My husband works in nuclear energy until her retired. As we moved in into our retirement home in Florida, we have a next door neighbor, a couple, they introduced themselves. They even help us a little bit as we moving our boxes. The guy is a cop. When our AC went down, my husband calls for his help, he came over, oh boy our biggest mistakes, his eyes is looking all over our home. He realized our home was renovated from top to bottom. I started noticing he always tries to catch me and ask, how much we pay for the roof etc… so every detail hired contractor that works in our home, he knows it, he has camera all over his home. He knows all our activities, he and his wife is working the whole day. Everything he sees in my house he always ask me , the price tag I spend! He makes noise to get my attention. When I’m working outside I wear my head phone to listen to music. He was at the backyard trying to get my attention but I didn’t notice it. He climb the roof just to get my attention and tells me he is putting a new roof! Suddenly he decided to retire the following year, and get a contract job as a sheriff. He started renovating his home. At first I didn’t noticed what they were doing because my husband has been in and out of the hospital. Until my husband passed away, I became prisoner in my own home. I have to do yard work when they are not home because if he is around, he will catch me and approach me and ask personal details like friends who comes to visit me and my son visit etc.. as I grief for my loss, if he is off, he constantly making so much noise into his renovation early in the morning the entire weekend or if he is off, he uses those days to renovate his home. It’s been over the year he is renovation constant noise, and I can’t get our in my own yard, he will be there looking at me, if he catch me, h will approach me and ask so many question. I’m processing paperworks for our retirement since the COVID-19 it impedes, because I would like to sell my house and move to different state. Seems this guy next door neighbor is very fond of me. I feel very uncomfortable. The biggest mistakes we’ve done, we have a set of key to them, we thought they are trusted friendly neighbor. I don’t know how to ask the key back, they might feel insulted. I’m thinking of replacing my door lock.

          • Do something for me , tell him you need the key back because you are selling the house. ( he cannot be insult because it is totally normal for the new owner to want all the keys.)

            If he ask why , you tell him that you want a to find a place where you can find some peace and quiet. ( totally normal to help process the grieving.)

            This will tell him everything he need to know. It will tell that you want to be left alone in a quiet environment to help grieving and healing.

            If for some reason he doesnt give you the key right away , you change the lock and any locks that would work with that key and you sell the house.

            From what i think, the guy was inspired by your place and it give him the impulse to renovate his own property which explain all the questions about price tags and roofs etc.

            For the camera , totally normal for citizens even so more for cops to want some extra protection in the form of video surveillance. Unless you caught the camera peaking at
            your windows of directly recording your back yard i think its a non-issue. ( if peaking directly in your backyard and he refuse to give the key as requested earlier then you can always go to the police and tell them that their friend peek on you and doesnt want to give you your key back. )

            So the guy like you , he find you mysterious , give him a young vibe of conquest maybe and the renovation was by impulse to prove his worth.

            I admit it would be risky to confront or engage such individual and that side stepping the issue might be the most posivite option.

            You are anxious , alone , in pain and you fear right now. You need to find your peace.

            If you can easily sell and move , do it and start anew , finally process your grief in due peace.

            If its not possible , go with the white lie. Ask for the key because you sell ( great chance of getting what you want without any argument or insult. 98% chance of sucess.
            If he ask why you want to sell , just say that you need a quiet place to find peace and grieve. ( this tell him passively and indirectively that you dont like to interact and want to be left alone for a purpose that no normal sane person would denie )

            I believe this is the easiest and quickest path to take so you can at least relieve a bit of your worry.I believe no sane person would react negativly or feel attack by this short ,precise and honest interaction. I believe this might even maybe solve the problem of him trying to start interaction with you in a sane way. I believe it might make him more conscious about the noises he make.

            Anyhow , go change the lock now !

      • You are so right! I have caught one climbing up to my windows looking in, wake up & she’s in my yard trimming bushes, gets in my mailbox, comes up and asks my company who they are! Will come up to you & ask where was you yesterday from 8am to 10am. I recently had family in from hurricane Irma & they caught her looking all around & in their car & left. Its really not appreciated & it invades my privacy so I confronted her. I told her not to come in my yard & to stay out of my mailbox. Now she spends all day walking around inspecting my yard! Seriously if you have your head up against my privacy fence listening to me on the phone then you have a problem. I’m considering either hiring an Atty or moving!

        • Hire an attorney and tell him or her you invasion of privacy. They will send a cease and desist letter tot hem and if it continues will take them to court. Document everything and record them, get cameras and catch them doing their stuff. Also, get bright motion sensor lights for your yard.

          • I have just moved into a new home only to discover that the people next door are constantly monitoring how often and for how long I am in my bathroom! Comments such as “is she still in the bathroom” etc. I have caught the young boy (about 14 years old) watching me over the fence – he even had to climb on something to do this! When I turn around he quickly jumps down and goes inside his home. When I complained about this the parents and sister were annoyed with me! Don’t they know this behaviour is totally unacceptable!!! I shudder to think what type of man he will grow up to be. Just because I am a senior lady it doesn’t mean it is ok – poor parenting.

            • I have the same problem! They have harassed me for a couple years now cause I guess my life is th ass t interesting. My kids have herd them calling my name and mind you these are people that don’t even talk to me unless there ball magically keeps going over or fence which they eagerly wanted to get but yet would complain when our dog got in their yard a few times acting like they are scared of her. At first they would knock really lightly on our windows mainly my bedroom and our restroom window when thru thought I was in there but ended up being my mom a few times. 2 times they banged so hard on my daughter’s bedroom window about 4A.M that I could hear it all the way in the front of the house. Ugh I pray these people get a life with meaning so they can get out of mine. Myself and other people have heard them say she’s in there again? Or what is she doing? If I’m quite and someone else goes in there they’ll say she’s in there again and they will have their looser friends speed by my house no matter the hour when I use the restroom, just as I’m going to leave when I get home or when someone comes over or leaves. No I’m not crazy I have had myself mentally evaluated and have many witnesses to their harassment and even stalking. I have lived in my house over 20 years and done whatever I can to keep my family safe from these losers after icaught them climbing our fence and breaking a Bush in the process cause they realized I looked on the only camera I had at the time. This is just the few things that they have done.They have threatened my life when I would talk about what they were doing to bring it to others attention so if anything did ever happen to me it was witnessed by others.

        • Better yet, if she’s in your mail box the theft or tampering with the mail is a federal crime, get video and go to your post master. if she’s on your property uninvited and you live in a stand your ground state a 45 in the face works wonders to change attitudes. I’d tell her she has a chance to walk away now, next time I will be in fear and exercise my right to self defense.

        • Sue that neighbor is a scour basically she is trying to make ends meet by robbing you taking your identity. Yeah she got her own son story I’m sure. But she needs to get a job. She is blunt and invasive. Not very good at her tradecraft. That’s abuse to you in sorry you little sweet thing you’re right on the head noticing her game on you… .she probably at home sometimes laughing thinking how she fooled you, and others; as she gets ready to go to the bank.
          Have a big man go knock on her door and tell her we are on to you and we are going to retake all her stolen things every bit stay away from your house.
          I don’t know if that will work.
          Now you can have a little teenager break in the backdoor and a few times she catches them or really game on she can’t call the cops .
          Get serial numbers of stuff she owns report it stolen them have a break in planned .she calls catches herself caught up.

            In Florida, if you see a neighbor watching you through a window… wave! Let them know you are watching them too… I have even gone as far as calling them out on NEXTDOOR app.

      • I agree to a certain degree… I am glad that I have nosy neighbors. However when you look out the window and notice that it’s only me raking my yard and doing things around my house. You do not have to stare. I look out my windows when I hear something as we have had some crime close to our neighborhood. But if I see and hear a neighbor I do not stand at my window like a crackhead waiting for the cops to pull up.

      • Well, when my neighbors are disrespectful, rude assholes who let their demon spawns run around and scream like they’re getting murdered and play loud music or talk so loud I can still hear them with windows, doors and volume up, yeah…I’m going to be that person shutting all their shit down. I’ll have cars towed and have cops show up to every party. Why? Because if they don’t have respect for the well being of the neighborhood, I have no respect for them. Being loud on the weekend is one thing, but being excessively loud ALL the time makes you a piece of shit. Sorry, not sorry. Respect is a two way street.

      • My neighbors know exactly when i leave, when i leave and come back they’ve done been in my apt and stole things from me i know its them but i can’t prove it , they’ve pried. My door open so much the deadbolt doesn’t work anymore, i cant afford surveillance, so what can i do my landlord hasn’t tried to do anything, if i catch them well they wont make it out this is been goin on for years now, others complain of things bein gone also they’ve gotten away with it so long now its like washing thier hands im sure, i need advice asap

          • Leave the audiobible (free internet download) playing, and/or spiritual hymns The gangstalking nosy neighbors will stop breaking in.

            And when you’re able to save enough for cameras get some. But leaving a boombox/smartphone/mp3 player on spiritual messages/singing works!

            • I got robbed by neighbours they broke into my storage house took a lot of my things that can not be replaced! so I started playing Mantra music and blessing to get rid of enemies and jealous people and so far so good, with the evil neighbours I got on my street who needs enemies.

      • I really wish I had some neighbors to keep an eye out for me. That’s great and supportive.
        There is a difference between keeping an eye open vs. keeping an eye ON someone. The latter is simply super intrusive. I call it being a stazi (half nazi – control issues for the worse; half stasi – privacy violations and horrible surveillance).

        I’ve been experiencing this with quite a few “stazi activists”. Despite excessive activism, intrusive monitoring and nosiness, why are dead animals being placed in the courtyard? How could someone still set my garbage be set on fire unnoticed?

      • I travel the country with my coy dog full time. Usually don’t see the same city for a while, I work as a handyman and help clean up after disasters and repair people’s lives by rebuilding their homes. I have a bad habit of either not charging enough or not budgeting right, I don’t know what it is but I don’t seem to get above the line where all the neighbors don’t lock their car doors (very loud and echoes almost) hurtful when you would never take a thing without warning or having permission. I’m Irish and proud and the reception we get if I’m not actively on my ladder fixing the town is to get out of town. Googles led me down more neighborhood watch warpaths than should be, fuck you I’ll fight if I am hindered. Would this be accepted with the same results as if Herb and Henrietta were lost in the hood, thered be hell to pay. I have gotten in verbal routes with watchers across boulevards and just wanted to know “how we lookin from over there? See any adjustment you would recommend so that I might have enough time left in the day to give so many fucks what a random stranger is up to. Sure be nice to have some of that air conditioning…” blank stares is all I get. How do you get the money you make when all you do is follow and harass the shit out of me. I think it’s a great idea to make it reasonable to confront and engage these people to defend, fuck honor, your sanity. Its no wonder so many who, turns out, are fully legal to buy weapons. Ahem, that’s right your screwed too tight social Gestapo is the most to blame for every round fired in malls and other places that so called normal people are innocently fucking about driving each other to the brink for shits and giggles.

    • I have lived in my present home for 33 years. Old farmhouse. Have had few neighbors, but no problems with any of them all these years… I am a confirmed loner…But I love people and I am known for showing it. I have PTSD, so I MUST have privacy.
      New couple purchased property across the street and renovated the property…Did a terrific job. Built a business. Built a huge steel fence around it…barbed wire…Its a Commercial Property now. It affects my property, but they have the right to build anything they choose…I applaud them. But her intrusiveness is not OK. Example. We have animals Mini horse and chickens…She wants to be involved with them pretty bad…She asks about them. Wants to look at them Give something to them..I saw this innocently at first, but it isnt innocent….It is her way of policing something someone…namely us…She must.feel in charge…be a hall monitor..She always does everything to. centers on gain increasing control…esp. to find some kind of fault with your stewardship of your property…!
      My husband just found out he has a carcinoid tumor and must have a resection of his bowel…We found THE perfect home for our horse…We felt we had to downsize so he can get well. Now my neighbor is acting like a jerk because she didnt want us to let the horse go…She rudely inserted herself into the whole process…She walked over while the new owners were here to pick Chilly up… I also told her my husband had found out he has a carcinoid tumor…she suggested the cause of the cancer was our fault..that we do not eat healthy food. She had no sympathy for his diagnosis. I am tired.

    • My elderly neighbours that live in a unit behind ours kill me! Our garage is behind our house and in front of theirs. So any time I go out the back the old lady will come out and talk to me or try to, everytime! Then whenever I leave or my car isn’t out the back, they get in their car so they can use my spot to 6 point turn. They have squeeky breaks and it takes them literally 5 mins to get out in reverse and 4 mins forward. I can reverse out in 10-20seconds. She woke up my pregnant gf at 7am on her day off to catch a feral cat in her backyard, my gf is pregnant they know this, so she cannot touch ferals. The old man used to be a postie, so they’re allowed to steal our mail, then give it to us days later, like yeah I know our mailboxes are right next to each other but they are still seperate for a reason! Had to put a lock on letterbox, they still pull out ones if they stick out. Our kitchen faces out to the front of their house, sometimes when i go into the kitchen, ill see the old lady just standing at her window staring at me, and she never breaks eye contact first, it’s so fricken weird. I think they mean well, but I really enjoy my space and am too shy and worried about others feelings to tell them.

      • I think you are taking their actions the wrong way. They are elderly and retired. They notice more because are home all day. They look out the window because their bored and lonely. Their generation was neighborly and they love to talk to everyone about everything. They probably really animal lovers thinking it’s a house cat that got out or looked hungry and hangs around your yard maybe trying to eat out of your trash. Just became common medical knowledge pregnant women shouldn’t touch cat litter and prob don’t know as prob can’t afford not know how use a computer nor internet Also are up early so figure you are too so don’t think of it as a unacceptable time. If you were a postal worker you protect people’s mail and feel it’s your duty to ensure they get it. Mailman can’t put a letter in a locked or full box so they are being nice by protecting your mail from blowing away, rain and theft and bring polite and giving it to you when they see you. They check theirs daily and you prob don’t as online everything so yours is junk mail, but not their mail. No email for them or online banking so they still get every bill and mail off checks to pay bills and get letters and cards from friends and family. They get their mail everyday as im sure knows exact time it’s delivered and prob waits for it to chat up the mail man about his career as a postal worker. Retired people have less and fixed income and medical costs so prob can’t fix their breaks and elderly are slower at everything esp driving. Sounds like you have a “grumpy” pregnant person in your life who you wake up when going to work who is tired and can’t fall back sleep prob uncomfortable and annoyed by a lot. Prob venting to you. Prob usually rational so you aren’t seeing some of her complaints as irrational. Is the elderly person doing dishes while at kitchen window? Many women will tell you they think about a lot all day and easy to get lost in thought and stare off while doing dishes so prob isn’t noticing you. Especially if no dish washer or you prefer to do dishes by hand because you did it that way before dishwashers were common in homes. Consider alternative perspectives..you prob have kind old neighbors who are lonely and long to stay connected to a world and matter to people who are increasingly becoming very different from them.

          • I cannot stand people who make excuses for others behavior they do not know. I have a neighbor from hell. So much has happened I could write a book. He functions well enough in society but he is mental. My husband has a record and my main concern is that he does not physically engage him because it wont be good. At least my husband is aware of the mental bs he is pulling and does his best to walk away. Sheriffs have been here IDK how many times now. I wish I could show you the video I have of him where he is out in his yard ranting over the cameras we installed. He is sooooooo p’od he can barely talk. When he tries to say my husband’s name, he stutters on it so bad he goes inside and slams his door. His wife called the sheriff on my husband because he was painting the new fence we put up and was on their side of the fence. Told them they had a restraining order and law suit against us and he was violating it and trespassing. Not true, she flat out lied. So for the last 2 yrs only half the fence is painted on their side. Turns out after getting a the correct lay of what is our property and theirs, it was actually our land not theirs! Had to laugh recently when they were sitting out on the deck(almost a 24 hour a day thing with them) the husband told his friend ‘what kind of person only paints half a fence?’ Now I make it a point not to engage myself in responding to a word they say, but I could not stop myself. I yelled out the kitchen window(was doing dishes, doing my best to tune them out) ‘ the kinda person who gets the sheriffs called on them by your wife!’ ‘and lies to them about a restraining order and law suit you brainiac!’ Dead silence. His wife was not home, but my best guess was she forgot to tell him about that day because there was a whole lot of yelling when she got home. Every time they try to get us in trouble, they lie. Not once have we done anything been accused of. I wont go outside when my husband is not home. I am a bit scared of the other husband but if he does decide to be physical like he has threatened. I have PTSD and its starting to wear me down. Im at a loss as to how to stop. They are so focused on every single thing we do. I was sick one night, in the bathroom for a while and he turns on his bright outside light and stands on his porch and watches the house.

            SO for EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO THINKS THEY CAN WATCH CONSTANTLY WHAT YOUR NEIGHBOR IS DOING>>>>YOU ARE SICK AND THIS IS MENTALLY F$$KING NOT RIGHT! Get a GD life already!

    • I absolutely second Louise’s comment (I’m another Lou – great minds think alike lol). I moved into my current flat from a very, very abusive living situation. Guess what abusers love to do??? SPY! Invade your privacy. Demand to know where you’re going, who with, at what time. I now have a very unpleasant old lady next door who has had a dreadful effect on me with her demanding what I’m doing/where I’m going, etc. Couldn’t step out of my door without her flying out of hers and firing questions at me. Absolutely dreadful behaviour. I got to the stage where I’d get ready to go out and couldn’t bring myself to step over the door in case she flew at me with all her demanding questions.

      I’m a lot better now, and I approached her and told her I didn’t appreciate her sticking her nose in. So she decided to start spreading rumours about me. I confronted her about continuing to snoop and she became verbally abusive. Getting to the stage now I’m going to report her to the Housing Association.

      You people are NOT helpful, you are abusive. Sticking your nose into others business when it isn’t invited is invasive and abusive behaviour, and you know it. I hope you find yourself on the receiving end and find out what it’s like.

I work my ass off five days a week sometimes 16 hours a day and I have to come home to my neighbors accusing me of dealing drugs because I am young with a nice car and one time I had a friend pick up a phone charger from my mailbox in my neighbors called the cops and said I was dealing drugs. Ever since then I’ve been constantly watched by them had the police sit outside of my house in the whole neighborhood is in On it whenever I have a friend come over they try and take pictures of their tags as if I’m doing something illegal it’s sad and it’s completely uncalled for and if you’re that type of nosy neighbor you’re honestly a disappointment there’s so many better things you could do with your life then worry about what your neighbors doing but yet you would rather focus on that then enjoy your own life with your family. So continue to waste your time but just know everybody else hates it thank you

    • My neighbors are drug dealers. The mother is a drunk and she doesn’t care what her kids do. So her seventeen-year-old is out all hours of the night trespassing on my property. He has been dealing drugs for about 9 months now. His father finally had enough and left. There are men and teenage boys coming in and out of that house all day long. License plates taken cops contacted. Criminal trespass orders filed. Still it goes on. Just white trash thugs. So I am the meddlesome battle-axe except I don’t wear slippers all day long. Lol

    • When I was single I had my own place . A neighbor across the street would purposely park in front of my apartment for day’s knowing that was my only parking . When he has 2 garage parking spaces and front parking space . Finally one of my neighbors noticed he was being a douche and called to have his truck towed . My neighbor told me he shouldn’t be doing this and said he will call to have it towed . I was like yeah , nice my corner neighbor had my back . Now I’m dealing with party pooper neighbor who makes up fake reasons to call the cops on us . And another neighbor who are like 20 years older the us , who copy everything we do . They would park wherever we park . We live in apartments , so we only have one assigned parking , and other free parking . Will these people will purposely park where we park the free space parking , leaving their garage parking which they pay for that is in front of their apartment empty !!! Just to harass us . I don’t know why ??? After 8 months living here , they just decided to do this . They have no life . The husband even got so upset from seeing my husband get out . He was speaking in like Chinese language . They could be racist towards us . Don’t know their problem . Not sure if it’s like they are wanting to be competitive or something . Weird people

      Then there would be consideration for each neighbor which comes along with UNDERSTANDING.

      There would be none of those name callings, i.e., Old Bat, El Stupido, etc. The rudeness would be replaced with kindness.

      And there would be no peeping at each other through the blinds because we would be too busy being thankful to The Lord.

      Nosy questions would stop too because we would know from God’s word that each and every one of us is going to be held accountable for every word we say. Nosy questions would be replaced with edification.

    • That is one reason that I would rather put a bullet in my brain than live in an HOA, there are zero protections from code callers in Florida, statutes protecting you from abuses by your city code are non existent and case law so far does not offer one single remedy when you are abused by your city code office. I have crazy neighbor who is the sister in law of one of our recent mayors who sat on the code panel for years so she knows all of them by first name and continually harasses myself and others on my street with code calls (more like terrorizes than harassing) she harasses you until you lose your mind they buys up your house for as little as possible. Now she purchased the house behind me and got on a ladder to look in my yard and has made a code complaint for something that can’t be seen from the road. I have no patience left with this women I fear that if I catch her peering over her fence at me that I will not have the self control to prevent myself from putting a bullet in her stupid self. Open view is one thing, once you have to climb a ladder to look in my yard it is no longer open view, my dog likes to take boxes in the yard and tear the up and for that I am now being fined a hundred dollars for something that no one can see. You never, ever want to live in st. petersburg Florida there is no HOA but they have made every effort to turn the whole city into a deed restricted community at the expense of the constitutional rights of anyone unfortunate enough to live here.

  5. We had one in our old neighborhood that fit several of those descriptions. He was the organizer of the neighborhood watch and invited all of the neighbors but those who lived on our street (family members and renters). He called the city’s version of the EPA on my in-laws saying that their backyard pond was an environmental hazard. After cleaning it out, they had put a hose in it to refill it and accidentally left it on barely flooding his backyard near the fence. He liked to work on his laptop in the backyard so that he could eavesdrop on our conversations or on my inlaws. I hear he was in the backyard all day during each of my homebirths. I don’t think he was anxious to hear good news. His name was Richard. Can you guess what we called him?

    Out here in the country it is much better. The neighbors are further away. There is a little bit of gossip which is inevitable in a small community, but it’s not too bad most of the time. We have curtains only on our bathroom sliding glass door which faces a gap in the trees lining the road. Most problems can be smoothed over or prevented with a gift of pumpkin bread.

  6. We have a neighbor that does concrete sculpting in the middle of the night.
    Next morning, there are more of these bizarre head shapes in his front yard. City can’t do anything about it, even though it does qualify as an eyesore.
    Then there are the ones with the shades down all day and night. They moved in over a year ago and noone knows what they look like.

    It’s weird everywhere you go. Except when you get to your new place..you won’t have to worry about them!!

    • When I get out of Florida in a few years I want a house on most of an acre so that my neighbors are not ten feet from my window as in most cities. My house will have a doggie door and a fenced yard so my fur kids can go in and out as they please. I am not one for loud parties but I have many hobbies not all of the quite at times, I would like to be in my workshop running the table saw or the circle saw and not have to worry that the hag next door is calling the cops on me because the saw is running at 3 am.

    The worst neighbors my husband and I had were drug dealers (I think that wins the worst neighbor ever award). We had just got married and lived in a less than desirable neighborhood. We knew something was going on with them, but the full scope of it didn’t come out until they were evicted from the house and the new owners told us what happened. Needless to say, we moved shortly there after and have had no problems with neighbors ever since.

  12. i think it’s so sad when people have nothing better to do than stalk their neighbors. you’re right–they’re in every neighborhood and totally unavoidable, which is why i plan to live deep in the boonies when i decide to settle down. most important criterion: my nearest neighbor will be no less than two miles away in any direction. second most important criterion: clean water. 🙂

    • I can only guess that nosy neighbors have nothing better to do than to spy and complain about others. I used to live where my nearest neighbor was 3/4 mile from me. It was great. Currently, I live in a high rise on the 20th floor. Of course, no one can see me. Not unless they want to use a telescope. I close my blinds at night….just encase.

      • OMG no condos or apartments ever again, I’d rather a doublewide that than anytime. Those can be worse than the house neighbors, the ones that share walls are the worst, not all places are well soundproofed and sometimes you can hear snippets of conversation plus they watch your comings and goings and your visitors. Condo associations are worse than any HOA they want to tell you what can hang on your door, what kind of dog you can have, how late you can have the tv or stereo going inside your own place, where you can park your vehicle and a whole long list of control freak bs. I refuse to live like that.

  13. I can top your “Undercover Mole” who counts the winebottles in your garbage can.

    Here in the country we don’t have garbage service, but have to haul our own trash to the Transfer Station (fancy word for the dump – only every thing gets trucked away now rather than buried.)

    Of course the Transfer Station is only open a couple of days a week for very short periods of time. And if you miss going for a couple of weeks (as my husband is wont to do) we end up with a pretty large amount of…stuff.

    Believe me, at the Town Transfer Station there are no secrets! You can TRY to hide your wine bottles as you sneak over to the glass recycling container – but believe me, half the town sees it.

    Ah, the joys of small town life.

    • I can top all this simple shit, i live in an apartment. 4yrs now and just since last summer we finally figured out what was going on, we’d have things missing prescription meds, drinks, food over the counter meds, well i had become friends with cple other people here, they’d say they thought the landlord was stealing from them, we had things missing I’d blame my husband he thought i was crazy, but we finally figured out, everytime we leave our neighbors know and they use something to get my door open oh yea its gotten worse lately its everytime i leave just for a bit they will steal half my smokes or something, ive let my landlord know since last summer when I’d finally figured out its 2 sisters that live in the complex, they spend all thier money on crack or herion, but i figured them out because I’d JUST went to the dr, i get 600mg neurotins for my back so i hid them in my couch on the side we left after that and come back so i went to get my pills a brand new prescription, had 5 in the bottle, so 2 days later the neighbors knocked on my door trying to sell me neurotins 600mg, just in a plastic baggy, they was dumb enough to try and sell my own pills back to me, at that moment, i knew id been right all alone, its them they still do it, so tomorrow im putting in a camra, i want to put them under the jail my husband thought i was crazy for thinking they was coming inn, and i thought he’d took my pills , that day i realized it was exactly who i thought, now thier days are numbered, i don’t call tho police im no snitch i done 5yrs over a snitch, but i be damed if i sit back and just let them keep taking my pills that cost me outta pocket, then i see them outside they smile in my face like catch me if u can oh im gonna the next cple days and i promise I’ll whip both the sisters at once and im only 115, but after all they’ve cost me fights with my husband because who’d ever think ur getting disrespected everytime you leave, now im to the point nothing surprises me anymore, but the moral of my story is trust no one and anything is possible..

  14. Well, think about it this way when you are at your winery you won’t have neighbors.

    I used to have the little old man neighbor, he wasn’t as bad as the party pooper neighbor but still tiresome. He worried about our trees and flowers. He also sent his landscaping guys over to trim a bush that he thought was overgrown, I was letting it overgrow so I could reshape it. The bush 5 years later is still weedy looking and sick. He tore out our wood fence and replaced it with a chain link, without asking, then presented us with a bill. Our landscaping guy quit because of him. Shall I go on?

  16. Luckily, I have pretty normal neighbors. Except for the people next door who let their yapper out at dinnertime every night to bother us while they eat dinner peacefully. I tend to pounce on them for their annoying dog, but otherwise it’s a peaceful neighborhood!

  18. That’s a great list! When we first moved into our house 7 years ago, the lovely woman across the street came over and “filled me in” on who all the neighbors were on our cul-de-sac. She gave me WAY too much information, so I made a mental note to always be on her good side…in case she was sharing with everyone else who she thought we were! 🙂

    When we lived in our apartment, before moving into the house, there was a man who would do Tae-Bo completely NAKED. He was on the second floor and directly across the parking lot from us. He had no idea we could see him from our deck…through his curtain-less window.

    Needless to say, one of my friends and I had the most interesting conversations out on the deck. Thankfully, no one called the cops on him, because it was a pretty nice show. 😉

But before we moved out here I had one REALLY nosy lady that would start gossip because I would not answer her messages about what we were doing and who was at our house visiting. Mean spirited…in fact she became worse the more I ignored her gossipy ways. I do not miss that at all!

  22. I find the best strategy is to scare the crap out of all the neighbors right from the get-go; then no one bothers you except the similarly strange. I now have complete freedom to stand in my stuffy subdivision yard with purple flannel pants, Metallica T-shirt, Outback hat and muck boots holding a martini, surrounded by a flock of chickens.

    And they don’t even flinch when they see us working outside with floodlights on our latest project at 11 at night. Sweet.

  25. Okay, you have sucky neighbors, my friend. We have the hypocrite pastor across the street who brought his wife’s car into my hub’s shop, then threw a fit on the floor about the expense, telling the manager he was a pastor and would urge his congregation to boycott the very reputable dealership. Our other neighbor is a peach. He’s a tribal drummer, so in the summer, Mr. Clairol and I float in the pool and listen to the drums, bells and pipes at night. There are two boards missing from our shared fence, but we agreed not to replace them because our dogs are buddies and they visit. I just had to warn my teenage daughter not to look through the gaps since he likes to skim his pool au natural, if you get my drift.
    Then we have a neighbor who keeps calling Animal Protection, claiming we chain our dog up (we don’t) and that he never has food or water (he always does). I don’t know who that is and I don’t really care. I hope he is counting my wine bottles. Maybe he’ll realize I am no one to be trifled with. Winos Unite!

  27. Can you believe that I had a woman who was the: Party Pooper, Undercover Mole, and Meddlesome Battleaxe that lived right next door to me! She knew everything about everyone! And was not shy to share with whom’s ever ear she could get to! After she moved and her house sold, she showed up one day and walked right in…when the new owner was doing some remodeling. Just walked right through the front door, and demanded to know why the new owner was making so many changes…can you believe that!!!!

    I think I would be the Boob, not a Deliberate Boob…just a Boob! I am forever saying dumb things.

They come and go, oblivious to our attempts to wave and acknowledge that we inhabit the same neighborhood. Or the Scooby Doo old man that lives next to us, who only talks to us when he’s trying to convince us to have our trees cut down so we ‘won’t have all that mess in the backyard.’ Ah, well. I have a feeling the families on this street are convinced ours is a crack house: I have three teenaged sons who have lots of friends who come over often, creating lots of car traffic.

    I see each of my neighbors in the descriptions. Hell, they could probably see me, too. I have SLIGHT Gladys Kravitz tendencies, sometimes. Our neighborhood is super-quiet, so it’s easy to notice things out of the ordinary. But I don’t know the gossip or how many wine bottles are in their recycling bins. I don’t care.

    You had me laughing out loud. Why does every neighborhood have these people on the block? How does that happen? I have no idea, I only know it’s true. I find myself trying NOT to be like any of the characters you mentioned (God forbid I was ever the “deliberate boob,”) but you’ve nailed each character profile perfectly. And their names! I am so reading this to any of my family members who will (be forced to) listen!

    This neighbor conundrum (no pun from your earlier post intended) must be why one of my favorite movies of all-time is “The Burbs.” An oldie, but perpetually a goodie, and nails the typical neighbor types to a T.

  36. I just happened across this page accidentally and I can see that the other comments are from years ago but I couldn’t resist, I had to comment on this! It’s funny that I came across this post because I am sitting in my bedroom right now furious that my husband cut down a tree in our front yard. The reason I’m so mad about this tree isn’t because it was beautiful. It was actually sort of ugly (it’s called a Pussy Willow of all things). I’m mad because now my insanely nosy neighbor can see me in the yard better and has a clear shot view into my bedroom window. Although I do have blinds and curtains but still! That ugly Pussy Willow was providing me with a little bit of privacy from (one of) my crazy neighbors-and now it’s gone! The only plus side to this travesty is we are planning to move in the next year or so. But reading this has made realize that even though we are moving there will most likely be at least one if not two new crazy, blind peeping, annoying comment making, always in my business neighbors to get on my last nerve in the new neighborhood too! Oh well, thanks for the laugh!

    • I feel for you, our nosy neighbours are next to us and I don’t feel comfortable in my back yard anymore. A word of advise if your plans are still to move, keep to yourself and try not to be too friendly with the new neighbours. If they try to carry conversations, pretend you’re too busy and walk away. I know it’s hard but becoming too friendly let them think they can control you. Good luck and I hope you find peace and privacy in your new home.

  37. We have nosy and crazy neighbors. They watch us through binoculars at their windows and have surveillance cameras pointed at our house. They had killed rabbits and bored out their eyes and threw them in our yard. They have messed with our shed and rv trailer in my backyard. They killed my precious little dog. They have been going to other people’s yards and destroyed trees (dumping gasoline on the root system) and other things there and tainted animal treats to where it would make the dogs extremely sick and blame us for it saying one of my kids jumped the fence and back again when they weren’t even home for several days. It is to the point where the neighbors are yelling at us for these things in which we have not done anything at all. Trying to be a good neighbor, every Christmas we would bake treats for the neighbors, take care of other people’s lawns when they weren’t able to. I am so stressed. I don’t know what to do, I don’t know what we have done to them that makes them hate us so much. We always keep to ourselves, we don’t like the drama or gossip that they do.

    • I read your comment and I feel so much for you. We too have crazy neighbours. Some people think they own everything and everyone on the street. But the hell you are going through loosing your precious dog and the killing of other animals and as I kept on reading I thought my neighbours are not that bad after all. I think you need to get your own cameras and record everything. If you see anything illegal, you need to take actions with the law, sometimes a legal letter as a warning helps a lot. Good luck

      • It will either help or throw gasoline on the fire. If your local law enforcement agency allows you to file information reports do it so you have a readily available time line for when their antics finally cross the line. People that behave like that are cowards, if they weren’t they would talk to you like an adult, you can’t use reason with crazy people the only things they understand are a weapon in their face or going to jail. Restraining orders (for stalking) can be a great tool but if it’s not someone you live with those are tougher to get than a domestic injunction sometimes called a DVI.

I don’t know if anyone wrote anything about this — but with the latest technology and using these little spying cameras I think my neighbors father and brother are watching every step that I take near my kitchen window. They have these lights attached to their condo unit that, of course, I can see only at night and they go from yellow to green to red or vice versa. During the day if those men are out front and I look out the window they pick up their cell phones so I’m assuming that they are receiving a message from the camera? It happens too often for it to be that they are just answering their phone. Though it could be a ruse. What’s up with that? Do you know anything about these cameras? Is there anything illegal in that activity?

    • Yes, most likely cameras, I have had the same problem. I had window film put on all my windows and now I can see out clearly and no-one can see in (unless they come right up and put their face to the window). However, at night I need to close the curtains (which I would do anyway) as the window film is totally see through with lights on. It annoys the hell out of those nosey parkers. Why not put your own little (dummy) camera up and see how they react to that!

    • Just be aware how paranoid that sounded, cops deal with so much of that crap every day it is most likely you’ll be labeled as a nut if you can’t provide proof. There are ways to interfere with wifi/cell phone signals. May or may not be entirely legal but if they don’t know about it…..

  39. I’ve lived in the same place out in the country on a 2 acre parcel for almost 28 years now. My place has a 6 foot wrought iron security fence with automatic gates for driveway access and no walk in access, it has 6 foot cinder block walls on both the north and south property lines that are 300 feet in length, and a 3 rail, no climb horse wire wood fence completely enclosing the back acre… my place “screams” – I like my privacy…. So, my neighbor … let’s call him Johnny Come Lately …. after a year of my neighbor asking me if I think he should put a mobile home next to my side of the property and me telling him politely to put it some where else, and now seeing that it (yes it is installed and it’s permitted and “legal”) violates my privacy, devalues the appraised value, and reduces my quality of life, after months of suggesting and encouraging him not to place it there….. he goes ahead and does it anyway…. now, get this… the mobile home is on stilts 3 feet off the ground on a cement slab, thus making all of the doors and windows substantially higher than my 6 foot cinder block wall. The trailer is positioned directly (left) south of my back porch, patio, and pool area… in other words, this guy can stand in this trailer home and observe every thing that occurs in my immediate back yard…. So, needless to say, I am not happy, not happy at all. So, I do my research and contact the County, yep, it’s all legal … nothing I can do about it… The County sends someone out to the neighbors and the neighbor gets mad and calls me up and accuses me of being a “snitch” …. so after a brief phone conversation where he wouldn’t let me speak, the conversation ended abruptly. And so I wrote him a letter… The letter explained my feelings of privacy violation, my rationale for conducting research, and that his decision to put the trailer where it is has caused me 1. lost all privacy in the back yard, 2. devalued my property, 3. lessened my quality of life, and 4. has cost me real money to build a supplemental fence and wall to restore my privacy / prevent the neighbor from peering down into my space. So… the County says he’s legal, the neighbor says he has a right to build anywhere on his property (which he does), and it’s simply OK to invade my privacy. Please advise ….. am at a complete loss…. and BTW, the county gladly accepts people’s money for permits and ok’s this kind of thing so what am I to conclude… and there is no home owners association or property management …. rural countryside living.

I have a couple of new neighbors,someone was looking in my front window,and the next night in my office window.I stay up late and smoke outdoors,for the past 2 weeks I’m armed with a flashlight,pepper spray and phone………….it’s a shame because my neighborhood is safe,but someone knows my big male roommate has moved,as I found a cig. butt outside his window….I find myself very on edge and not sleeping well.I have been sexually accosted by a male before when younger.In a month my younger brother will be moving in,and I cannot wait.My father just sent me pepper spray.

    ILEGAL Nano Communication TEETH or internal spy device for listening tracking and phone Implant people” over hear who put implants in people they don’t want or like or don’t act like them to keep everything in a compound like activity… so not to be bothered by that person or unwelcomed “They label you a whack job person illegally” and no matter if they need it or not! They impersonate everyone who would be of authorities in law so cops don’t get involved seeing their questionable doings…It’s the system that beats the system thwart the law thing!

    Then they can stalk you, entrap you set you up and even hold you in THIER homemade mental hospital while reporting to friends if you going places, it’s the” trafficking’s what ever it is they are doing!)!) new ways to keep cops off their but!
    If you figure it our they will go into action ruining your life job and even devastate your property and pets!
    And they think Military and FCC or CIA can’t hear or knows what they are doing and they say they won’t because they have friends! Scary isn’t it and it is scary being able to live your life with Gang stalking activities!

  42. What can I do if my neighbor keeps looking over my fence and feeding my dogs. We have a bird problem in the neighborhood and we feed our dogs at night. They tied a pot to a stick and will stand on a chair and lean over. One time they good sick and there was throw up all over my back yard. I’ve told them to stop and they continue to tell me how I’m doing things all wrong. I’ve had dogs my whole life and they just got a dog a few months ago. What can I do when they look over my brick fence they can see right into my laundry room. I feel like I can’t walk around in my house without wondering if they are watching me.

  43. I don’t know what to call this. Our neighbor is a field away. They watch us from a distance, I think with binoculars and yell really loud randomly. I don’t know if they are trying to tell us something or just talking among themselves as loud as they can. I hear a word here and there but mostly loud mumbling and can’t understand anything they say. Don’t know why their so interested because we don’t care about them. And we would never do anything for them. So they are wasting their time on us. Hope I never gave them the impression I care because I don’t.

  44. I am gay and entertain and host friends almost daily and my neighbors can’t stand it. They always watch my place and must think I do illegal things but I don’t. I feel sorry for them, they do not have a life. I will continue to host my friends and keep them watching. If they don’t like it they can move.

    • Please don’t take this as any sort of sexist or homophobic comment but honestly I think that’s the issue right there. If the problem folks are male and older they can’t open their minds, if male and younger they were probably raised in a very homophobic home. If yours was my situation I’d invite a bunch of friends over for a dressup complete with what some may call a queen show. Flaunt it baby rub their noses in it and if they start something you can probably get your local human rights office into it because it is definetly some sort of discrimination.

This bitch was calling the police every time we had a party and the police came to our door and we invited them in and there was nothing wrong not even loud music. lol

  46. Ha ha. This is incredibly funny. I recently moved to a spot where the downstairs neighbor became tremendously nosy. I was taking care of someone with a disability who lived in a place where the walls were thin. You could hear everything especially when we d leave the door open. Sadly the way they build walls is pathetic these days. Many times I could hear her on the patio talking with her friends making fun of the “guy upstairs” and imitating the way the tenant with the disability acted and the things he said. He was actually a good man and was completely harmless. So many times she used him as the butt of her jokes. I asked my friend what I could do about it without being vindictive or hurtful and especially not breaking any laws. It made me so furious. What a vicious woman. So one day, while she was home, my friend comes over with an empty shoebox. She sees him pass her on the stairs up. We left the door open so she could hear everything, cause shes nosy too! So immediately my friend pretends there are some scorpions from the Vivarium in the box. Of coourse there is ABSOLUTELY nothing in the box. My friend tells me to play along as he proceeds to tell me about scorpions for the next five minutes. What they eat, what type they are, the fact that they are not lethal but can still STING. All this info that apparently he made up as he was going along. He tells me never to put my hand in the box and never ever accidentally knock it over cause if I did they would crawl everywhere and dissapear. Be careful they dont get out because your neighbors will hate you if they find out. I ask him if its legal to have them and he says yes. I ask him what I should do if they get loose. He says, leave the place and have the apartment fumigated professionally a few times just to be sure. Its was freaking hilarious. So later that evening I hear her talking to her friends with a totally concerned voice about how the people upstairs have scorpions and if that was lawful. She made a HUGE deal about it. Now, I know it wont make her change her evil ways, but I can tell she is a bit worried about things now. I hear her vacuuming twice a day now for 15 minutes. Score! That my friend is how you make someone feel uneasy. Hey if she wants some attention, she got some.

Neighbours went from nosy to obsessive to voyeuristic to full-on stalking, filming our every move, parking outside our house despite having their own driveway free, sitting in the car filming into our home for hours, shining floodlights into our bedroom and sitting room, lighting up the back of our house from their garden and filming into our back room. They are cowardly bullies who will not leave us alone. It’s very scary indeed – what are they doing filming us around the clock? This has carried on for 10 months. We feel sick from the stress and are forced to live in the dark as we cannot open our blinds and have had to cover our windows completely. Anyone suffering this stalker/spy problem – can you tell us how you deal with it. We don’t want to confront – it became obvious that they were trying to provoke reactions with the guy hiding behind the hedge with a camera, saying hello hello in a high-pitched girly voice trying to get us to look for him – which we refused to do – and the chronically obese woman in her car with her camera phone outside our house – hoping we’d tell her to jog on.

Start your own recordings you will need them if you aren’t willing to leave and that’s the last thing I’d do myself much more fun to knock them down a few notches or better yet prosecute them civilly or criminally for their behavior.

      • Thanks for your reply – we’ve contacted the police. They are very cunning and will probably deny – also are friends with the whole street & have probably lived in the same area for generations. (We’re from the city). I do have evidence pictures though.

  48. i am facing a problem and if someone please help me
    My side cornor upstairs started yelling one day with some abusive language saying we are making noise , i came out to my patio and asked him , he said my patio dorr making noise , why not you put oil on it ..i said sorry and got the dorr fixed . i am indian family with a 5 year old kid and hence we decided we will try to minimize the noise. Things went fine for 4-5 months and then one day we noticed this guy was saying something but he silent in 2-3 minutes till we reach to him…later after 2-3 months , we noticed some kids were playing (there was a birthday party ) and this guy started saying f*** kids and shouted shutup shut up 4-5 times and then he silent.

    This made me lot of afraid and i want you guyz suggestion what should i do , i am planning to leave the rented house but these days i alwayz thinking about and keep telling my kid and wife don’t make noise ..my focus on other work also getting lost ..Situation here is i can’t breake the lease for next 2 month but i feel very unsafety , do you guyz think so ? Can he harm me or my family ?

    • I am going to guess that this guy is most likely not of the same ethnicity as you, he’s probably older white and american. you are an easy mark in his eyes. the more you back down the worse he will get. Confront him, call the cops and perhaps look for an attorney the more you try to ignore him the worse it will get.

  49. Have any of you tried to talk to your neighbors, that is the more adult approach I would say. Kudos to the ones that have, doing the logical thing. With my experience working the neighbors, is that they assume, or believe everything that they hear. that’s the crazy thing about the community I live in, no one asks, they all assume. Don’t be scared, you might be shocked by waht you learn, and might make a new friend. For those neighbors that continue to assume, tell them to shut up or beat your ass. They won’t. But in case they do, make sure you turn your invisible mic all the way just to let them know their fucking you idiots

    • I do agree – this would be the ideal approach. But many of us are genuinely scared and outnumbered by the stalkers. New to the area, not the same demographic as the majority or maybe just different in some way, which makes us targets. Neighbour bullies enjoy the power they have. In our case, they’ve actively tried to encourage a confrontation so they can film it. It’s one set-up after another – and too late for talking. With attempted break-in, ID fraud and a ‘warning’ rock placed outside our house, the discussion ship has already sailed.

    • What I’m reading about here is a very real phenomenon referred to as “gangstalking”. It’s more common than one would believe. Ordinary people are targeted by these perpetrators who, for whatever reason, set out to ruin the targeted individual’s life. Their goal is to make othees think you are crazy by reporting the absurd tactics and harrassing behaviots they impose upon you which sound crazy to people who have not ecperienced this phenomenon. They culminate neighborhood watch groups, law enforcement, friends, etc. by convincing them you are a horrible person through spreading lues and invalid gossip about the target. I have had bright lights shined in my bedroom and living area rooms that pierce tge window treatments and expose my most private moments. More recently, the backyard neighbor pitched a cabin tent on our common fence line. The tent is in plain view of my bedroom window. Last evening, for kicks, I got my binoculars out and took a look. There were three men in the tent shining flashlights toward my window. My blinds dont clise all the way. There are gaps whuch provide slight views into ny bedroom. The neighbor to the side shines bright lights into my bedroim and has signs on his house that it is equipped with surveillance cameras. In additiin, that neighbor has strategically placed garden chairs up against o u r common chajn link fence facing my back yard. One can see that these chaurs have been used as stsp stools to enter my back yard as the tops of the chain link are crushed where people have used them to climb the fence. Finally I have seen shadows and heard voices outside my bedroom window at all hours of night. And every angle of this house has brighr lights shining on it. Its annoying to say the least. More on point my human and civil rights are being violated. But who do you talk to about it? I choose to ignore them and go about my business or alternatively give them a good show. They are cowards and losers and need to get a life.

      • To Anonymous TX………….we (my husband and I) are in this exact situation that u have described. It has reduced our quality of life to something between zero & zilch. We’ve tried getting help from local law enforcement only to be told that they don’t care about our issue because we are drug dealers/addicts! And it does not seem to matter that we are NOT drug dealers/addicts at all! I work 45 hours a week as an office/accounting manager. I don’t know about u but I don’t know any drug dealers/addicts who work full-time jobs, much less the same full-time job for 12 years. And that’s not to say that they (mostly the man across the street from us & our next door neighbors) have not tried to get me fired, because they have, by sending letters to my boss, who they did not realize is my adopted father & knew about all of this from the very beginning. They follow us everywhere we go…..local law enforcement follows me to & from work everyday, to the gas station, grocery store, vet…..I literally mean everywhere. Some of our friends & family have been turned against us. And the family & friends who have not, I don’t want to involve for fear that they too will be harassed. So we are basically alone with absolutely no help from anyone & it is very discouraging. I hate bullies, which is exactly what these people are, so moving is not something we want to do. Besides, we’ve lived in our house for 17 years! Long before, ANY of these people moved in. But still, we are considering selling our house. However, we won’t be putting it on the market…..It will be a private sale to a person even less desirable than us, say maybe a pedophile, a real drug dealer, a local biker gang, a very flamboyant gay couple who are very secure with their lifestyle, since the man across the street despises gay people….the possibilities of undesirables is endless………and the only reason this is happening to us? Because we would not be friends with the man across the street & because we had a lot of friends so we always had them stopping by our house & we used to do whatever we wanted to do whenever we wanted to do it since we are adults & that’s what adults do. Simply put, he was jealous of us so he had to make up things & lie about us just so he could make friends by creating a neighborhood watch group against us. It’s sad really, that this man is such a douche bag that he has to lie about us just so he can have friends…….but it’s worked for him. Somehow, these people do not see the douchiness that just radiates from him so much so that it radiates from his house nor do they have enough brain capacity to pay attention & think for themselves & see that we are none of the things he has said about us. So talking to them, as previously mentioned, is out of the question as is being friends with them because I don’t want friends that cannot think for themselves & have to follow someone else’s lead without question or even if it’s because they are simply afraid that they will be his next victim because all that means to me is that they are just as douchy as he is & are not worthy of my time. So like u, we live in our home with blinds & blackout curtains that give us a false sense if privacy & only leaving when absolutely necessary. So if anyone has any useful advice, please share it. But if you are just going to criticize, be sarcastic, or negative, please just do me a favor & keep it to yourself, as I have plenty of that already & at this point don’t give a f*** about your opinion since you are probably the type of person that is undesirable to me. And to you, Anonymous TX, I truly feel for u & understand ur situation better than u realize. Maybe we should be each other’s support system since there are not many who can understand what we are going thru. I’ll check back & maybe we can find a way to connect privately, if ur interested.   51. When we first moved out of are place next to are neighboors. Into are new apartment my old neighboor found my car one morning she new what time get done with work and followed to my new place to see which building we were in. Then next day she came into the building went to door to door telling them what to do to me. Saw what did should got her right there. Then later on we moved again she followed to the third place moved again and talked my neighboors what to do again same thing stalking me and harrassing me and she has other people watching in the wal mart parking lot night. That’s really stalking right. Did not catch her ass yet but I think I should before again she is a ring leader of all of my neighboors i’very been to to try get to me. They are talking different vechiles to hide themselves to but ifor tells neighboors to harrass me like I know shes here and did that. Now new is stalking me in wal mart parking lot now joined in. So if gets neighboors to watch in the parking lot all and not her can she go to jail it like all of them that she creative. I don’t know why she really needs me that bad but she can defiantly go to what she did me what ever I got her for.

I have these types of nighbord and when their gonna steal i can hear my window open in the middle of the night.i can also hear when they say something about me everytime i go out like oh well your house gonna be stolen.and when im gonna go out i can see one guy goimg around the corner where im standing waitting for the bus same guy every TUESDAY spying on me.pretending hes taking the bus and doesnt take it.how can i make these people stop i am also pregnant causedd me a lot of anxiety depression i was once w out no food.or anything in the house.im afraid of ending up like this again.HELP please be my rescue and help..thank you

  53. What about neighbors that just ‘happen’ to start knocking when they hear your apartment get quiet at night? The knocking starts as soon as I turn out my bedroom light and my head hits the pillow. It’s really wierd. They knock approximately 9-12 raps per time. It goes on all hours of the night. Someone said that I am hearing drug-addicts pounding pills. The timing is what is strange. I can pinpoint it. As soon as I lie down and turn off the light, it starts. 12 a.m.. 2 a.m. 4:30 a.m. 6:00 a.m. You never know what time.

  55. Jeez, I could have had it worse! What about the guy next door who is almost always home, closes his curtain when you come home (like you’re going to step outside, walk up to his back door and spy on him – we share a patio in an apt. building), and every time you go into the kitchen, you can hear him go in right afterwards. Or when you get home, he has the TV on but then immediately turns it off. The walls are super thin, unfortunately. Oh, I’ve also caught him go outside briefly and then on his way back in, look into my apt.

  56. I have a neighbor that has gotten really creepy since I moved in the house in 2016. It started out with comments like are you struggling? I was working oin the yard. Or compairing bills which I just heard the complaints never actually said what mine were. Then it got to the point where if someone would come to the house he would be standing on front porch just watching to see what was going or peering his eyes over his vehicle to watch me leave the house or the time that he said to me that he couldn’t figure out my schedule which I said good. This is not his concern obviously since I’m single and live alone. And now it has got to the point where he conviently comes out of his house if he sees my garage door open cause I’m leaving. Wth?? Really? It has made me paranoid and not opening my blinds all the way. I feel like more of an introvert.
    I will be selling the house soon not only because of this but because of personal things and will be glad to be rid of this nosy neighbor.
    I just don’t know how to deal with stuff like this and was looking for ways to cope. Any suggestions would be great!

    • Is he a older retired man? Not many men think a women can afford a home as a single person..might wonder what type of job you have since you don’t have a regular work schedule if you are not coming and going 9-5…might assume you lost your job. If doing yard work then you can’t afford to hire it done so was he offering to help with physical labor? Prob wants to know if you are selling or foreclosing as both effect his property value.

Wisconsin is having movement in the land cracks on both sides of Michigan and it might be why a lot our trees are falling down maybe it’s underground piping’s from Hawaii and middle of Wisconsin is on a seduction fault line zone and the volcanic belt area also…where we live scary stuff when trees and barns all of as sudden just start going down in a line in that area and they have been! We also have three known areas of ancient real volcanoes all centered in Wausau’s, Eau Claire and Wisconsin dells! And Rock dam sort of scary stuff there! So maybe you should start thinking about your future cause right now we are in a odd situation with this stuff and if Maine volcanoes starts up and they have been having activity up there ..WOW lots to think about then right?

  60. Hi I have a very nosey neighbor. I live in an apartment complex. And I’m not the only one who’s dislikes her very much. The first two worst things she has ever done is that one day I was washing the dishes, had my earphones in. Not to mention I was in my home clothes and my bras were a bit out. I had the blind down which are black out blinds. But then all of a sudden I get a tap on my window and she’s talking to me saying she borrowed my hose nozzle without asking and was returning it! The second was I just found out recently was that I was at work and my boyfriend was visiting and in the shower and then he saw someone peeking into my garage looking into my house ! He didn’t see who it was. But I have a funny feeling. The latest is that my ex was trying to rampage over stuff that he thought was here but wasn’t. The point was tho she blatantly told me that she had gotten his contact details so that she could pass on anything I said! Meanwhile I’m in the middle of getting restraining orders. Another time I had a birthday party for my boyfriend and my friends complained cos she said hello to every car that turned up. She used to have her door shut then when I got home I would notice it was open and if I walked passed she would yell out to me and try to talk to me when clearly she could see I was busy ! But since I told her to stop talking to me and stay out of my business she still keeps watching my house. Last night I had a friend drop of my hat that I left in her car. And my friend said her door was shut when she pulled up but I noticed it was open. My other neighbor has also had similar stuff done to her as well and she’s told her off too. But she still keeps doing it! I once got a text and I was plating my guitar. She sent me a text to say that she is sorry she would listen to me more but she is going back inside cos its cold ! I mean far out she was listening to me in her back yard !! Ive blocked her number. Only had it in case each other needed help or something. But that got to a point where she wanted me to move her heavy furniture around for her. And she even copied how I had my furniture!!! What the hell do I do ! I am sick and tired of it !!!

  61. I decided to find SOMEONE somewhere that goes through what I go through. So happy I found some “stalked” here. My stalkers are like this: Their house faces mine, but at a 45 degree angle across a small intersection. I’ve been to their home a few times, and notice, from their garage door (inside the home) that the ONLY THING they see when their garage door is open is MY HOUSE! Needless to say, if they aren’t sitting in the garage, whenever their garage door is open, I KNOW that all they see is MY HOUSE. So, it creeps me out to no end whenever I leave/return, turn on a light, open a window/blinds, do the yard, have guests, etc that, if their garage door is open, they only see… So, lately, it’s progressed to the point that, they only open the garage door whenever they know I’m home. If I come outside, they will come out of their house, and sit in the garage watching everything I do. But, when I’m back inside, I can look out a window and watch them return inside. It’s so creepy, and it scares my friends and family. Sometimes, they will come over when I’m working on something in my garage, with the dumbest questions you can imagine. I don’t need THEM watching my home, worrying about how my car sounds, why my car was towed home, etc. because I have FRIENDS who do that for me. It’s so creepy… I know there’s nothing I can do, and they are harmless, but it really takes a lot of courage for me to accept being watched by an entire family everytime I’m visible on my property.

  63. First time I ever experienced a creepy neighbor was my husband and our son moved into our home in April 2017. When we moved in the neighbors were two seniors, husband and wife. Two months later a man showed up with Georgia license plates and never left. Come to find out later that it was their 56 year old unemployed son. This man would go out of his way to come out side as soon as he realized my family were either in our front yard or back. He deliberately pointed his chair to face our back porch. When we opened our garage door this man would come out and walk to the end of the driveway and stare right into our garage. This happens each and everytime. When I’m doing yard work he mysteriously appears and pretends to be doing yard work slowing making his way to where I am. I got fed up with it and introduced myself to him and told him a little bit about my family. I figured since he seemed so concerned about what we was doing that maybe if I introduced myself that the creep would stop watching us. We had already introduced ourselves to his parents when we moved in and they are very sweet. When I was talking to him he was saying some of the most off the wall things, telling me he was in jail for throwing a pipe at someone and getting beat up in jail. I have no idea where this was coming from or why someone would says these things to somebody they just met. All I can say is that after introducing myself all hell broke loss from that point on. I looked this man up for any court records and sure enough he has a long rap sheet, one for falonious adult and the judge ordered him to seek mental health counseling. I had to call the police on him in May 2018 because out of no where he tried picking a fight with my husband who was sitting in the garage. I had security cameras installed shortly after that and to my amazement as soon as he realized what they were he got on his roof and acted like he was cleaning the soffit. He kept trying to spray the water house at the camera. His behavior still continues to this day. The other neighbors seem oblivious to his behavior other than two families that live down the street and refuse to speak to him because he has an odd disposition about him. From time to time he sprays our cars with water and plays with a toy remote control car and runs it through our front yard. Come 2019 we are moving. We refuse to have our privacy invaded and fell like prisoners in our home.

  64. My new neighbors enjoy spying on me. They put up cameras that they qualified as looking onto their property next door, but actually are looking into my windows and property.
    Totally uncool and against the law … their DOD Security Licences should be pulled. They monitor my ins and outs from my property.
    I contacted a lawyer online about this issue and he told me to be aware of other monitering issues from those peeps as it had been his experience that peeps with cameras will go much further with their survellience.
    Camera pointed at my property … I put out a mirror that would reflect the camera … They called the police …
    Who does this stuff? Apparently’ my totally disgusting neighbors …
    Police, disgusted, just moved on.
    Totally disgusting neighbor then put out weed killer and killed all the grass on my property that boarded his and mine and did the same for the property next door to him. NO Squirrels left in the neighborhood. He killed them all with his weed killer. Who does this??? Apparentley my disgusting neighbor who dumps his pool water over my water and sewer lines creating a ditch on my property. I called him out on this … he and his wife told me that they have the riight to put their pool water lines across my property and down my driveway cuz’ I’m a “bad neighbor”. Never before have I experienced a neighbor without a concience. Then, said totally disgusting neighbor glued a NO TRESSPASSING sign onto MY DRIVEWAY. I went out at totally whacked it with my father’s 80 lb. plumber’s wrench … Swung it like a Louisville Slugger … they called the police … Police said it was a civil problem and left. Yep, it is a Civil Problem … the freaking people who live next door (can’t call them neighbors cuz’ there is nothing neighborly about them) .

    I own my property and I’ll be DAMNED if a freaking piece of S**T neighbor is gonna dump his pool water over my property, kill my grass, kill all the squirrels in the neighborhood or glue his freaking no tresspassing signs onto my driveway. My property. My taxes. My rules.

  65. We’ve become targets of neighborhood gangstalking . No other way to describe it. Cannot leave the house to go to and return from work , take out the trash , get mail , buy gas at the local gas station , eat at a restaurant ,etc etc. Without being harrassed , threatened , stalked. Fortunately , I work out of town.
    This started with one old man & has spread to 90% of our neighborhood , grounds personnel, outside contractors , their visitors.
    They hate young people , which we didn’t find out until after aquiring condo. She & I both work , and mind our own business, don’t drink , party , play loud music , no noisy dogs, ..don’t even get visitors save family at Christmas.
    We had a couple of ” feelers ” upon moving in…you know the kind…seemingly act friendly , ask what we do for a living so on so forth. Then turns it around , calls us liars to the rest so on so forth.
    Snide nasty remarks , threats of violence , slander , defamation. All in an effort to socially murder us , run us out.
    Joined a neighborhood website , listed a few things about myself which completely contractradicts everything they’ve been spreading. No one there knew us upon moving in. Two times they’ve got me kicked off the site while bringing up what’s been going on in reality here. The troublemakers insist that my online profile is fake , anything I’ve listed is online only , when every single bit of it is true .
    Things being falsly spread : I don’t work , nevermind actually do what I do for a living ,was never in military ,we aren’t as old as we say we are, she and I aren’t really a couple, my better half is nuts after being stalked & threatened by several of the residents here , upon being called out on this they take a ” nothing to see here ” attitude.
    This garbage has extended as mentioned above to landscapers , on site grounds employee’s , outside local contractors , any family or friends they have visiting. All in the name of smearing us. Finally broke down & bought security cameras for the condo , as multiple letters to the hoa have solved nothing.
    Forgot to mention this is Florida.

  66. We can’t control our bad neighbors but we can do something to prevent them from affecting us our our family. We build a good fences and gates to prevent unauthorized entries to your property. You can also install security cameras to help deter and provide evidence when you need it.

    My husband and I bought a 60s ranch two years ago, which we love, but I despise our nosey, next door neighbor. From the outset, the old woman has only spoken to my husband and not to me. In fact, she’ll go out of her way to greet him while ignoring me.

    She’s always watching us. And when we have guests, she spies on us. She did this at Christmas when our sons visited. We went outside to take some photos, and she pretended to be working on her lawn, plucking weeds from her garden beds–it was winter with a foot of snow on the ground!

    But here’s the real shocker–the dog poop mystery.

    We normally work nights and sleep during the day, and I’m sure she knows our schedules. But recently, I was up in the afternoon and went to make some lunch. Through the kitchen window, I was shocked to see the old woman in our backyard. She was mowing the grass along a fence that divided our properties–I’d never seen her do this before.

    I was thinking, “Oh, no!” as I needed to clean up a few piles of dog poop in the yard. We have mastiffs, and, needless to say, those piles can be quite large. I normally stay on top of the clean-up, but I hadn’t cleaned the poop up for a couple of days as I’d had the flu.

    I waited a couple of hours as I didn’t want to encounter her. And guess what? No dog poop! It had magically disappeared. One can only speculate as to what happened and why. Ha, ha!

  69. My neighbours are the worst, they are all older (with the exception of one family) and they gossip about everyone on the street. Well there is an older lady who lived across from me who goes out of her way to spy on me. She sooo stare at me through her screen door being open fully obvious and not wave or do anything but stare. It’s ridiculous and her neighbour will sit in her car until I leave or go out or just plan watch me from her bedroom window. I caught them yet they still continue I’m guessing it’s a mental health thing at this point.

      My neighbors do the same thing. She is a bully and thinks that she owns the block! It’s OK for her to play loud music and if we listen to music, she complains about it. My mother passed on May 6th. I was in my yard on the phone that afternoon and she just came to the corner of her fence and called me a wetback! This was one of many examples of her bullying. I finally had it and called the police. Now they have security cameras pointing to our house. Any advice? Thank you.

    { He was going to hire his friend to implant a Tiny Nano phone implant, that will infiltrate through all electric items to send audio voices just to that revenged person’s internet implant and then send voice signals saying he is a sex offender( Deliberately with nothing to back the statements, it’s all about revenge!)!) and now the implanter and revenge artist will control, stalk, follow say anything they want to harass ,invade privacy and take his or her life away and try to make them look crazy and hopefully it will cause them to forget stuff and get them in trouble where ever they go …while thy sit their at their home watching it all on internet and not going anywhere because it’s controlled through theirs and their stalker harassment groups computers or internet lines!} and there would be no way for that victim to do anything about It and police can’t or won’t do anything to help that person and it would eventually Quote “Get them” as what was heard by that unknown person! I hope this won’t happen to anyone and those people will be able to take this in to court and sue the heck out of those people! I have read it’s called electric harassment gang type stalking and revenge and or set up activity!

  72. Due to lock picking for years, theft of old and valuable items amongst other things, I found an Authorized locksmith who sells Medeco M3 deadbolts and, voila!, no more stealth break-ins. He even examined the old locks and gladly wrote up a letterhead note that stated that evidence was found and a tension wrench had, in fact, been used. Got some copcam.com cameras which the footage can be viewed on windows 7, 8 and I think xp too, and are they decent for the money. The distance is excellent. A dash cam I had been using prior, in a rental storage trailer that I forgot to lock one night, revealed a culprit wearing a wet-weather Bucket style hat when they just waltzed on in. I installed jimmijammer.com hardware all throughout my vehicles, blocked the hood pull cords with heavy mesh wire up under the hood and hid the vin number at the windshields and up under the trim above the rear driver tires to prevent a thief or vandal from obtaining a replacement key as they have done before. After getting an Android phone and a new number, as well as a new P.O. Box number along with the Postal Service sending notification if anything changes, life has gotten better. Oh, and when I installed anti-siphon coils from gasbanditblocker.com into all the filler tubes, there was more money in my piggy bank than there had been in years. Everything I have implemented has worked 100% and sleeping has been a lot nicer since. And nosy people? I cleared the brush and trimmed the trees where they used to walk by and hang out and a quick decrease in activity, including vehicles, almostly instantly occurred. No more can anyone, stranger or neighbor, assume that they are not going to be seen or that they have free-reign to be anywhere on my property, especially since I also posted yellow Posted and orange/black/white colored Keep Out signs right where their main hangout spots were. It took 22 years, approximately, to figure out what all was going on and what to do to stop it but it has been worth it. And the imposter who committed fraud going into my bank and placing three names and a local phone number into the beneficiaries section of my account will not likely do that again as I had a password only I know put on my accounts which I change about every 3 months. So far, so very good.

    • Play background music in the room where you think they’re listening. Start saying really mean things about them when you know they’re listening. Say things that aren’t true like, “we’re gonna have a huge, huge party. How much cocaine should we buy?” Say that right before you’re going on vacation. Basically make them chase their tails.

  74. Wow, I found this site because I have been targeted by an HOA president & a neighbor. I was wondering how much of what they do is actually legal. Reading all of your stories has made me realize that even though I respect a direct and honest approach, when dealing with crazy people that approach most likely won’t work… There are people in this world who are only able to hear “You will NOT get away with what you want to do. Period.” Reasoning, appealing to sympathy that doesn’t exist,
    etc. has no effect on some types of crazy.

    If I think they’re listening I start talking out loud about how pathetic their lives must be. I make up nicknames for them. Like
    “Stalker Balker” and say it ever time they come near (to myself but loud enough for them to hear.)

    That being said, I am a rule follower by nature, so they can’t have me arrested for any real issues.

    Recently a neighbor took a picture of my snowy deck, which is a private, 3rd floor deck. She had to lean around her deck to do it. She was “worried” that I wasn’t intending to shovel the snow.
    Now I may be one of the few people in the world who loves to shovel snow. I was out of town for 3 days while it was storming
    & hadn’t gotren to it yet. But that took most of the fun out of the job, for me.
    So now I’m planning to make a huge SNOWMAN out of the snow on my deck. And leave it where it is.

    Why don’t some if you folks start putting in surveillance cameras that video your neighbors who are spying on you? Make it obvious that you are watching them watch you? Be super annoying until they get it that being nice will provide results, but being dicks only makes you uncooperative.

  75. This is not a reply, more like a statement, true story. I’m homeless and I was placed in a hotel which now the welfare office is trying to kick me out. I have these weird hotel neighbors that study’s my every move. I wakeup in the morning and I have to get up slowly, I had a massive brain bleed which now I have a seizure disorder. All I do is I open my eyes at first, it’ll be quiet then I go to my bathroom and the whole time I hear constantly movement. Every step I take, they take. I lay back down, somehow they know. They bang, stomp really hard on their floor. They take certain things and slam them on their floor. Any movement I make, they become very quiet. They listen when I’m on my phone. Then, I turn my phone off, it seems like they get highly upset. They make all kinds of noise. Last week it sound like they were chanting, like some type of worshipping they were doing. They scare me. On top of all that, they always wearing dark colors and they seem to have a thing for all black clothes. HELP ME!!!!!!!

  76. I have this one neighbor – actually many that are nosy but one in particular that I am pointing out today that goes through my garbage can. She has honesty nosy problems and hates me for some odd reason. Sometimes when I bring my groceries in I can’t bring them in all at once so I set a few grocery bags down to bring in what I can so she comes over to what is in the bags – what I eat. She also goes through my garbage to let neighbors know what I buy and eat. I use RING so it picks up everything! I can’t even go to the mailbox without her asking me for if someone drives over to my place and as soon as that person gets out of the car she hits them up for a rid (she has no car). She spreads rumors about me all over the neighborhood. It is getting worse. I have a bird feeder and she tries to get me in trouble for feeding the birds says attracting bugs, etc. She is a full fledged nosy trouble maker and is turning the neighbors against me daily. I wish there was someone that could give me advice on how to approach this nosy crazy woman. Any suggestions are welcome.

They know if the brown truck delivered today or yesterday and how many packages were left on my doorstep everything. It’s just unbearable.   78. Have one we meet during open house. Said she was checking the place for her kids. Our first 3 days of trying to move things in from one house to another, were met with her coming over before we had car doors open. Kept saying when she comes over for tea… Her husband loudly complains about blueberries going to waste in my back yard. How he hates us. I saw him one time when looking at my house.
    We never exchanged words.
    At the end of our first week in the house at 3 AM she was heard saying “you only gave me 3 times to bond with her” He replied ” you were taking to long.”
    She replies you can’t just cant someone to do that for your husband when you meet them”
    We went out came back to an open keypad to our garage. All the doors closed and locked up stairs,things moved things missing. Yes, we changed the locks and I before that glued the keypads shut. She asked for cell phone number over and over. Gave her the house number. She calls a few weeks later, says “your husband works Monday through Thursday right?(husband had taken two Fridays off) I want to come over when your husband’s not at home.” 2 Days before Christmas my phone rings 3 times stops. Rings again 3 times
    Her husband yelled she knows it’s you that’s why she’s not answering. You go over there” 5 minutes later she was at my door. The ring we had gotten showed her there with a small white trash bag in hand. I did not acknowledge the visit. My house phone rings again this time she left a message. I did not call back and left the bag on the door for hours until my husband came home to remove it and I didn’t send a Thank you card. Wanted her to stay away by now. Just could not figure out why he wanted her to bond with me while saying he hates us. Especially me. My first idea something was wrong he was heard saying “there’s the little prostitute now” as I walk up the driveway to my car. I feel bad that ignored her but cant get past his constant rudeness. Nor, the feeling it’s better to stay away from her and him. Am I Right or wrong? There is more I could write you about this couple. Such as the time she tried to follow us. Any advice on this?

  80. I now have to lock my doors because of a neighbor that walks in occasionly and set some unwanted fatty dessert on my counter that spot from the store and full of preservatives. Looking for an excuse to see what I’m doing in my house while I’m gone. It makes me crazy I don’t even want to go home because I know within 10 minutes they will be at my door peering in the window or knocking and asking how I’m doing. Have shared way too much with this person and its triangulation I can’t stand it she tells me what my kids say and she tells my kids what I say and it’s AMS yakult O who unhealthy behavior and it all started with me telling are too much so it’s time for me to pull back pull out and put it away

  81. Introvert myself, the loser on disability. I’m that guy… The strange one, who never leaves his house. They fear me, the neighbors. Maybe they hear me singing at night (I like to sing to God when I pray). Maybe they hear me talking to someone that is not there (God, and my dog) – and yes they both answer me back (with encouragement and cliche’ positive wisdom sayings. Guess they wonder why I don’t work, why I don’t drive… Think I live off my brother-in-law, who, in fact, drives the car I own and uses the spare room in the house I own. Maybe they hate me for living off the system – but the system prevented me from committing suicide, and God (with my now dead wife of 18 years) kept me going somehow. The system keeps me off the streets I used to live on, but thanks to massive budget cuts there are very few services left for the mentally afflicted these days… Though they will throw a bucket of meds at you, turn you into a soulless drone, so I can no longer hear God or my dog talking – boy then I am really alone.
    Brother-in-laws’ around, don’t get me wrong. Good guy, helps me out allot since she died, he’s basically a caregiver… But he’s got a life, gone all the time, and God bless him for helping me at all.
    Anyway, I keep my house clean, never committed a crime, don’t smoke or do drugs, don’t drink booze… Just sit on my puter, making random comments here and there, pray and meditate daily. I like paranormal shows and watch the news to much.
    But my neighbors seem hostile… Maybe because sometimes, when there are odd noises outside, I do peak out… Then I see them, staring at me, looking at them, and I withdraw.
    There are a group of good ole boys, and I don’t mean just rural folks – I mean the kind that like tormenting anyone whose different, like drugs and wife-beater tea-shirts, revving engines and playing very very loud music at all hours of the day and night… They hate my guts, because, well, I am a fat old guy on disability who never leaves my house. I suppose I might hate me too, but God and my dog say that would be wrong. 🙂

You can here people in the background of TV sets that are not suppose to be there…and Computers also… I wonder if our high towers or grids or TV antennas/phone/computer lines inlet boxes are being hacked!? I heard some people saying it’s happening over in Milwaukee and imposter activities of all kinds also! Imposters were putting fake smart meters in that looked completely like the ones the electric company gave to steal electric and money or other illegal stuff also! There is many different new phone even wearable on a chain or in a jewel on your face, tongue or virtually invisible and wireless…. and they can tape and phone anyone using just tattoos also! Be careful what you say anywhere!
    Street Lights down town and in your own home light bulbs now also, even your car radios, Cameras now can send your conversations and be picked up by police or FBI! Newer cars now have a secret built in motor “black box” next your home will have one… that does the same as passenger jets black boxes do! Creepy stuff going on! Drones can be 6 + miles away and see your up close like a dime heads next to your face! Now anyone can be wireless under or on the skin even in the tongue and teeth 2-way bugged now!

  84. Example of psycho neighbor: Female White mid 60s. Sells insurance, but has three dead relatives she cashed in on. Now she’s got her elderly father living with her. Fights with her adult daughters. One daughter, 33, was living with her but left due to the mother’s fighting with her over money. The other daughter is disabled, sadly, from a car accident and the mother has done nothing to help her other than put up a go fund me page and use it to buy herself a new Mercedes. Truly sickening. This same woman has multiple men coming and going in her home who she likes to boss around have do menial tasks around her yard. All the men are in their late 50’s, a few in their 40s. all look like they’re either in or out of rehab or county jail. She preys on weak people who need a place to stay and has them do her dirty work, such as filming us when we’re walking around our property, flipping us off as we drive by her home, she had one guy toss underwear over the fence with fecal matter, that was unique. Very strange woman. Like a puppet master serial slayer, but she speaks in this mousy tone and plays like she’s a little girl, t hough we’ve heard her yelling “GET THE FU%% back inside to GROWN men renting rooms from her.” Beyond creepy, it’s like something from a psychological thriller. This woman is such a fkg psycho, but she wears many masks of sanity. She also once called our internet provider pretending to be us and cancelled our service when we confronted her she denied it but we know she did it because the internet provider gave us a copy of the email she fkg sent! Helllloo….she used her own email. Crazy and dumb is a dangerous combo. Best thing to do is pray these evil people OUT OF YOUR LIFE. Get out in the name of Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BYE. And get video surveillance around your home to document what they do when you leave. And if you ever have a dog that is suddenly sick, suspect them, we sure did when our dog mysteriously got sick after we went on vacation. These are sick evil people. Evil people are harder to catch because they pose as angels of light. PRAY THEM OUT.

  86. I got a good laugh from your article. The reason I found it was because today, Saturday, I was leaving to go visit my mom around 2 pm. She lives lives close by. I’m in my driveway and my next door neighbor yells to me in a adult tone “Hey, you need to get up earlier than that”.

    How damn rude! What the hell does he care what my schedule is or what time I wake up? (I did actually wake up at 12 noon because I was dealing with a sore neck all night).

    I love my neighbors and I think it’s good to watch out for everyone but you know what? No freakin’ more!

    So what am I to do? I’m going to move to a detached house with NO nearby neighbors!

I have a completely obnoxious pious and smug neighbor who I discovered was going into my phones and computers and spying…I would clearly see the name of their router and IP Address on the bottom of my screen thanks to a spying app. The husband stays up all night blaring war movies, church services, and Fox News. Then at 4am the wife would wake up and with her shrill voice start screaming at her husband and argue till I just couldn’t get back in bed. I would start screaming like I was having a nightmare and that would quiet them down thinking they were going to heat me talk in my sleep. Anyhow, I got fed up with their illegally breaking into my phones and computers so I created an entire false profile with emails, photos, videos, correspondences, and a friend of mine helped me acquire a bot that would maneuver in the websites of your choice so it makes it look like you’re on those websites all the time. I portrayed myself as a Satanist, drug and sex addicted, degenerate so they would think I was more trouble than I was worth and they’d leave me alone. Now, I hear them at night talking about me and that God wants me dead, that I don’t belong in this neighborhood, that I should be in prison. That scared me considerably but said nothing and it seems to have tapered off but still here them at night talking about how God should strike me dead of a heart attack. At leaset they don’t talk to me anymore
