Tate’s Bake Shop Giveaway

 Tates Basket
Mother’s Day is quickly approaching and I’ve teamed up with Tate’s Bake Shop, one of the most celebrated and award winning bakeries in the Hampton’s. The bakery itself is a popular destination for tourists and locals with lines often stretching out the door.

Kathleen King, founder and owner of Tate’s Bake Shop, began baking when she was just eleven years old, selling small batches of her crisp, buttery chocolate chip cookies off of a fold-out card table on North Sea Farm, her parents’ Long Island farmstead.

In 1980, when she was only 21, Kathleen rented a space her mother spotted and opened her first bake shop. She developed a full line of traditional American baked goods, perfecting every recipe herself and baking each dessert from scratch. Named after her father, Tate’s Bake Shop is the result of Kathleen’s love of baking and keen eye for quality.

Tates BakingforFriendscover
Kathleen’s cookbook not only includes many of the favorite Tate’s Bake Shop recipes but is full of time-saving tips when it comes to baking at home.

One lucky reader is going to receive the above Mom’s Baking for Friends Gift Basket, featuring a lemon tea loaf, buttery-rich shortbread squares, an individual coffee cake, a box of their famous crispy chocolate chip cookies and copy of Baking for Friends. Lucky, lucky, lucky you!

My mom passed away a number of years ago but I still think of her everyday in some kind of way; big or small. I still admire her fortitude and tenacity. She grew up during the Great Depression, married very young and had 10 children with my father. She was the leader of our family and taught us all right from wrong and how to be kind hearted. I miss her so. I will honor her by saying a prayer and planting flowers on my balcony. She just loved Spring and could hardly wait for planting time in Michigan every year. Her flowers were as beautiful as she.

My mother never had a bad word to say about anyone, even if they treated her awful. She worked hard all her life at a job that paid very little with no complaints. Than she died young but I’m sure she was rewarded with heaven in the end. To honor her on Mothers Day I am striving to live my life more like her and if I end up just a drop of what she was in life then my life will be lived well and rewarded in the end. Love and Miss you Mother

I honor my Mom everyday by spending time with her and let her know how important she is in my life, instead of only on Mother’s Day. But on that day, I would take her out to a spa day, follow by a nice dinner with the rest of the family. Of course, this Tate’s basket would be a nice gift for her as well. :)

My Mom passed away from breast cancer 6 years ago – so I will most likely the small urn of her ashes how much I love and miss her every single day and then go guilt my kids into making me something chocolate-y. :)

My two sisters and I will be taking my mom to a teashop and spending the day together. The guys are on their own for a few hours! Mom leaves 4 hrs away, so it is a special treat to just have all the girls together. Mom raised 6 kids, and when I think of how much of a sacrifice it was, and how very hard, I am humbled and THANKFUL.

Making an entire gluten free Mothers day dinner for my daughter. She back in grad school without a lot of time to cook so we are going to do it up fine! Of course with enough left over to take home. But the cookies wouldn’t go to waste with a grandson in the same college as his mom.

My mom passed away a decade ago, but my dad got remarried to a lovely woman who has 2 kids (my age) of her own. We’ve grown closer in the time they’ve been married, but as I’m in my 30s it’s obvious that she doesn’t need to “mother” me. Still, I send a card and call to make sure she knows that I appreciate who she is and that she is important to my family.
