Monday Morning Smoothie

P1340508x
It’s Monday morning and what could be better than a smoothie to wake you up?! I am going to need lots of energy this week to get through everything I need to accomplish. I’m counting on the power of fruit juice to keep my energy up.

We are approaching harvest in the Willamette Valley and there is so much to do before the grapes come in for 2012. Not to mention lots of accounting, filing and boring number crunching type stuff. I wish all that stuff would just disappear.

Thanks to all who continue to stop by the tasting room, we have had a very busy summer and it has been great meeting so many of you. I’m glad I can sometimes be there to greet you all.

I have spent the weekend playing with my brand new-fancy blender from Blendtec…let’s just say…IT’S COMPLETELY AWESOME. I used it to make this lovely smoothie (all you have to do is press the smoothie button) and a plethora of other really cool things. If you love power, this blender is for you.

And guess what, I will be giving one away soon…stay tuned….

Love smoothies! Would love to have a Blendtec too! I am using an old Vitamix that I have had for at least 15 years. My nutritionist has recommended “green smoothies” but I have yet to find one that I like. Something about mixing spinach and banana just is not very appetizing to me! Have you tried eating frozen grapes? Eating those big green grapes frozen is like eating a popsicle. They would also be a good addition to the smoothie. Good luck regarding your busy week!! Back to school time is always a busy time and now it coincides with grape harvest making it even busier.

  3. Strawberry Banana, amazing. You making me go for smoothies too. Maybe something with Peach. :-)

    That smoothie sounds so good!

  5. I could use one of these right now. Busy week ahead! Love this smoothie, Cathy! Thanks for sharing!

  6. Hi Cathy! We’re a smoothie loving family, too. We call it “smoothie Tuesday” and “smoothie Thursday” because those are the days I make them. MWF mornings are my early workout days so I can’t make them those mornings even though I think my family would love it! I add a couple scoops of protein powder, too, either organic hemp protein powder or Bob’s Red Mill makes a soy protein powder. It gives a little protein along with all that natural sugar :)
    Happy back to school…!

  7. Cathy, your photography as always is outstanding and has me craving one of these refreshing smoothies! It is warm in California and this would be the perfect afternoon treat … if we couldn’t have a bottle of your wine … Cheers!! :-)

  8. I have a smoothie for breakfast every morning. The day doesn’t seem right without it. This is lovely.
