It's time to slough off dry-winter skin with an invigorating homemade body scrub!
This is an easy, all-natural and really, really inexpensive way to pamper yourself. Not to mention this is a great gift for the hostess at all the upcoming summer parties you are going to attend.
And of course, it was another way to recycle my cute Republic of Jam jars....I love them.
Lemon-Salt Body Scrub
Adapted from Martha Stewart
2 cups Epsom salt
1 cup body oil (Burt's Bee's Lemon & Vitamin E Oil)
Lemon zest, as much as you want for color and fragrance
Combine Epsom salt, body oil and lemon zest in a large bowl until fully incorporated. Fill jars and enjoy all summer long!!

So totally making this in the next week! Thanks!
I love making potions.
Your salt scrub looks good enough to eat.
Cheers,

I desperately need this for my poor winter skin. I’ve still got another few months to go.
I’m assuming you could use other citrus zest, like grapefruit or lime. Whatever you might have a glut of at the moment.
I’m game! I made some homemade laundry detergent that’s uber cheap and it’s da bomb.
I love your recipes and this is no exception!! I’m going to make it as soon as I can get some body oil and lemon. Thanks for another fun, fantastic project–even if I can’t eat it!
Wow, Cathy…yet another reason why I love your blog! I have been mixing sugar into my facial cleanser lately to help slough off flaky winter skin. It really does the trick exfoliating dead skin. I bet this will be an amazing body exfoliater!
I definitely need this!
Very cool! Great gift idea!
I do a brown sugar vanilla scrub, and this sounds just as awesome. In lieu of purchased “body oil” I would suggest using a combo of regular organic cooking oils…I use olive oil for the brown sugar scrub, but here so as not to over power the lemon sweet almond oil would be nice.
Love this!
What a great idea. I’ll be “borrowing” this recipe for gifts this summer as you suggested. I’m so glad to see other people save cute bottles. I’ll have to show my husband that I’m not the only one…
I’m new to your blog and love what I see. I shall return.
Sam
Thinkoing about making this as shower favors for my sis….how many jars did this make?
Ooh, this looks so refreshing!
