Super Bowl Sunday is only days away and we are all finalizing our party menus for the big celebration.  If you are hosting a soiree that will include fans of both teams, this will be a crowd pleaser.

These potato skins pay homage to fans of both sides and are a classic Super Bowl appetizer. We know your guests will enjoy arguing over which skin tastes best.

Game Day Potato Skins

Recipe from: Adapted from Everyday | Serves: 8

Ingredients

  • 4 large baking potatoes
  • melted butter
  • salt and pepper

Potato Skins

Directions

  • Pierce 4 large potatoes with a fork. Bake directly on the oven rack at 350o until tender, about 1 hour. Let cool, then quarter lengthwise and scoop out the flesh, leaving a 1/4" shell. Brush both sides with melted butter and season with salt and pepper. Bake, skin side up at 450o until crisp, about 15 minutes.

Pittsburgh Steelers Skins

  • Top skins with sauteed onions and kielbasa, sauerkraut and grated Swiss cheese; bake 5 more minutes.

Green Bay Packers Skins

  • Top skins with beer cheese spread, sliced grilled bratwurst and spicy brown mustard.
