My life is pretty awesome – I have a great boyfriend and we live in an amazing apartment very close to Melbourne CBD. We have two hilarious and cute furbabies (kitties) and I have a good job that pays me well.
I thank my parents most of all as they were the ones that risked their lives to bring me to this country to give me and my brother better opportunities than they had.
They have a winery too by the way – and make Pinot Noir. I won’t link here as I dont want to appear to be spamming, but their address can be found through my blog.

Anyways – I love your site (though I don’t think I’ve commented)…and I’ve made a few of the recipes you’ve posted – which is saying something because while I read a lot of food blogs, actually making the recipes posted within in often a different story altogether. πŸ˜€

Whew thats an essay. I’ll shut my trap already! *fingers crossed* I win!

  145. I am thankful for so many things. I am thankful to finally live in Seattle, a city that I love (even in the darkest of winter). I am thankful for my friends and loved ones who fill my days with joy and laughter (you guys rock). I am thankful for our cat who wakes me every morning (like a whining alarm clock) for his food. I am thankful that we are warm at night and have a roof over our heads (even when I complain about the things to fix). I am thankful that every day is an opportunity live life to the fullest (and we do, or at least we try). I am thankful for my parents who sacrificed so much so that I could have a better life (miss you dad). I am thankful for my partner of ten years (next month!) and he’s put up with a LOT over that decade (love you GC). I am thankful that every day I have the chance for better health when I swim, eat better, and continue to lose weight (2011 will be an awesome year). And finally I’m thankful that blogs like yours exist (honestly). Without them, I’d be stuck for excellent help when it comes to cooking… so thank YOU for that!

After being told Friday Oct 29 2010, @4:30 pm that Boston University Post Office will close its doors for good within 60 days, I am grateful for being able to service the B.U. Community
for the last 12 years. You have made this the best years of my 29 year postal career. It has been a true pleasure to come to work every day and I want to thank each and everyone of you for that gift. You’ll never know how much your bright smiles and patience waiting in long lines has made a difference in my daily life. I wish I could return the gift to you and tell you we won the battle and the U S Post Office appreciates the $172000.00 a year profit you have given to them every year but, for unknown reasons the Postal Service has rendered its decision. From the bottom of my heart I thank you for all you have given me and only wish the experience has been the same for you. Words can’t express what you have meant to me, Thank You.

The accident has brought us closer together and given us a clearer understanding of her disability. Parenting her has helped me to be a better person, to stretch and grow, to become an advocate for her, to see the world through her eyes, to help her learn skills and express what she likes (and doesn’t like!). I am really blessed to have an autistic child. I’m also grateful for my husband who is such a bastion of strength and has really supports the process of her growth, and mine as an advocate. What I am most thankful for at this time is that your wine delivery arrived in perfect condition and just in time for my daughter’s annual visit. We are enjoying sharing your wines. I like the Pinot Noir better than the “full bodied” red wine that I am used to drinking, in fact!” This weekend we are having smoked turkey and chicken and will be pairing it with the Pinot Gris. This has been a year of sacrifice, hardship, and heartbreak. But through everything- the semi-daily hospital trips, the near death experiences, the debt, the stress, the countless tears that I have hidden from you to show you that I can be strong for the both of us,- through all of this I am so very grateful that I have had this lifetime to spend with you. You are my best friend and the center of my existence. Without you I would be nothing and so I will fight with you every hour of every day for the rest of my life if I have to- and so I dedicate this post to you, Melissa. You have been my mother when I was lacking one to protect me. You have been my sister when I needed someone to understand me. You have been my best friend for always. You have taken care of me through all of our battles with these hard and unforgiving times. Now it’s my turn. toi et moi contre le monde.

I am grateful for the numerous blessings that have been bestowed upon e and my family this year. First off, after a 4-year battle with breast cancer, eventually developing into stage 4 Bone Cancer, my mother has received a clean bill of health from all of her doctors, and will surely be here to see my future marriage and my future children. In addition to that, I was accepted into the school of my dreams, Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, to study Photography, and am currently looking at numerous internship opportunities under a few of my favorite photographers. I couldn’t ask for anything more, but will be continue to be grateful for anything else thrown my way.

My younger brother passed away suddenly over Thanksgiving weekend last year. Since then it has been a struggle to make sense of a word without him in it. I’ve spent so much time grieving, and I think that its now time to count my blessings. I’m thankful for my wonderful family and friends, that I have a job and a home in these uncertain economic times, for sunsets over the Pacific, the wind in the trees, and rainy days. Mostly though, I’m grateful that my family is finally beginning to heal… that my mother is laughing again.

I’m thankful for my parents. I am 21 years old and this past February I finally found the strength to admit to them that I’ve been suffering from depression for about 10 years. Before this, I had not told a single person what was truthfully going on. In June, I was diagnosed with Dysthimia and have recently started going to therapy twice a week. While my parents are both in medicine, psychology and mental health are very new to them. Their love and patience has kept me going through my two steps forward, and my ten steps back, whether it’s dropping out of school, quitting my jobs, or even finding it hard to have strength to get out of bed in the morning. Being so young and suffering from depression, I feel very alone and alienated, especially from my siblings and friends. Their commitment, love, and support frequently feels like the only thing keeping me from giving up this seemingly endless battle. Every day is a hurdle, and without them I would not be here.

I’m grateful that I will have health insurance again really soon, and more importantly, so will my daughter. I was so afraid and hopeless this past year and a half. I am grateful for my job. I have the privilege to Coordinate a small non-profit program that allows me to work with Grandparents who are raising their Grandchildren. Although many have taken on this burden with worried hearts and limited resources, I have seen countless families working to overcome hardship in order to survive and provide for their grandchildren. I became a Social Worker knowing I wouldn’t make money. I became a Social Worker to help others and I can honestly say that they’ve helped me more than they’ll ever know… They’re given me more than any paycheck will ever give me. Family is an amazing word- it has so many meanings. I’m just glad to say that I have been privileged to see a new definition of the world “family”.

I’m grateful that someone gave me a car for Christmas last year and someone gave me a digicam this year. I’m grateful I have a part-time employer who “commissions” me in clothes . . . I have more clothes than allowed by law! I’m grateful that in absence of family I have friends I will spend Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner with. I’m grateful for my precious pet . . . unconditional love. I’m grateful I’m not living under the bridge. I’m grateful I will have another super, full-time job again, soon . . .

I am so thankful that a couple months ago, my husband got his hours back full-time at work. The recession had cut his hours but his work is picking up the pace again. Because our 2 year old has an immune disorder, I’m not able to work a steady job outside the home to help us financially. It’s funny how we’ve come to appreciate the simple things- that a bill can be paid-in-full, that we’re all healthy at the moment, and how each day is a gift.

    Prayers for Linda’s daughter.

Four years ago I had cancer. Surgery took it away, but I always had to go back every six months for tests to make sure it had not returned. This May I received a call from my doctor, telling me to see an oncologist because something was spotted near my liver. I did what he suggested, even though I just wanted to bury my head and forget about it. After many appointments, tests and sleepless nights, I finally was informed that it was not cancer again. I have never felt so grateful! So this year, I’m grateful for a new lease on my life to spend with my wonderful husband, sons and family and friends everywhere!

i am grateful to have had the opportunity to travel to africa this summer to help in a hospital in a small village in tanzania. i saw things that truly made me appreciate everything i’ve been blessed with in this life. it was a humbling experience to share the little fortunes in my life with those who are not as fortunate. i made wonderful friendships and will forever cherish my 6 weeks spent there.

I’m grateful that I am loved:) I’m thankful that I’m so well loved by God that He would humble Himself and die for my sake that I may have life to the full. I’m in awe of the fact that His love never changes and that He will never leave nor forsake me:) I’m thankful for Jesus, true love come down.
