I remember ten years ago today, lying in a hospital bed waiting for your arrival. I had no idea what to expect (I'm sure you didn't either). Luckily labor went by quickly, just a few hours, a couple pushes, and my life changed forever.
It's hard to imagine life without you in it. You fill up the days with your ideas, stories and interests. You challenge the world around you, which I like. You are headstrong, like someone else I know too well. You persist until you find the answers...don't ever stop doing that.
It's easy to feel a bit nostalgic about the little guy you used to be, but I'm finding it's even easier to feel proud of the one you've become.
May all your dreams come to life as you are truly the hope and promise of the future.
